“Kris, they- the human he found was dead, dude.”
“W-well, Susie they’re not exactly dead… a-at least I don’t think they are…” Ralsei clarifies, smoothing over his ears.
“How does that even work? You said they-”
“Yes, I know what I said, that’s why I didn’t want to, um, tell many people… When a human dies, their soul is supposed to- uh, shatter inside their chest, sorta like glass, or- or something. But, as I was inspecting this body- it didn’t have a soul.”
Kris felt something tighten in their chest, deep within. It was like if guilt had constricted around their soul and squeezed, but why would they feel guilty? They didn’t know this other human, they had no idea there were others around this area at all, how could it possibly be related to them?

Ralsei Prince, a "foreign exchange student" is the new kid in town, and he's happy to get to spend time with his two best (and only friends), Susie and Kris. Ralsei thinks he can do his friend's homework in peace without the looming existential dread of the Prophecy, but his world gets turned back upside down when Susie enters the three of them into the upcoming Festival Music Tournament. This battle of the bands may serve Susie's goal of impressing Noelle, but maybe, winning the competition would make Kris happy?
Come one, come all, to your favorite fluffy darkner crushing gaystyle over his striking human bandmate, former leader, as they guide him through a music tournament that may very well decide the fate of the rest of his highschool career! (That is, until a certain golden-haired jerk starts stirring doubt on which way the crush ends up gaystyle...)
(tl;dr: Ralsegg really likes Kris a super normal amount and they play music about it, with added plot drama for flavor)

You feel a migraine coming on, but it’s fine.
After all, it’s not like ‘YOU’ feel it. The throbbing behind Kris’s temples and the prisms of dancing color in their vision don’t actually affect their walking speed, or their Dark World stats, or the brilliant white SAVE points scattered around like fallen stars. In terms of status ailments, it’s nothing more than one more line of flavor text in a full chorus of one-liners still echoing from last night’s encounter.

Before chapter 1, The Vessel was restored due to the mistakes and lack of leading on the player in the game in later chapters, which messes up Gaster's Deltarune. Gaster couldn't exactly cut in and lead The Player/Soul by himself, as he would need The Soul to be alone, away from Kris and other's, like when they died or finished a chapter. He will need to have some candidate that can fit into inserting themselves to hint at The Player for them to do what they needed to do.
He had the perfect one. But... It will need a little training.
