Hometown Tomfoolery And Where To Find It

Summary:

A kidnapped Asgore? A golden flower torn to shreds? A twisted route ending with two teens drowned?!

Well you certanly won't be finding any of that here! No, no, not at all! On today's program we have more comedic relationship building festivities (Now with more Berdly!) and floral family fellowships to see.

I mean, this is supposed to be the last fun chapter, isn't it?

Chapter 1: Tremultuous Teacups

Summary:

“Three per teacup only?? Ugh it’s like the Cyber World again. What kind of lame ass restrictions are these??”

“…”

“Dude. You’re totally thinking what I’m thinking right now, right?”

Notes:

Just a lil warning, vomit is mentioned (but is not graphic) near the end of the chapter.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

“Angel, oh Angel I’m gonna be sick! Hurgh.” Berdly squawks, placing a wing over his mouth as his stomach twists and turns at the spinning sensation.

The bluebird grips tightly onto the side of the teacup ride, praying his glasses aren’t going to fly out of his pocket. Craning his neck to his left he can see a similarly sickly looking Noelle, though a smile still graces her face as she holds on tightly to the Susie shaped girl next to her. Susie is hooting and hollering, being the main source of willpower for the teacup ride as she forces the wheel in front of her into ever increasing back breaking speeds.

And Kris… well they’re just fine and dandy as too! The human appears to be assisting the brutish, purple monster in her endeavor to make Berdly lose his lunch. Though they too whoop, Susie’s ever louder voice booms above it all.

Berdly can’t even attempt to see what the ride operator is doing either. He can only hope when the ride ends there will be a short and simple acknowledgment of the rules directed towards them, allowing for a quick scamper away from the ride, consequences free.

There wasn’t supposed to be four people on each cup after all. When he, Susie and Noelle had gotten on the ride together he had been ready to begin his attempts at wooing the scaly girl, only to witness Kris appear behind the cup and squeeze themself in as the ride starting moving.

Now he can only manage to get out screams and complaints of his discomfort.

“Goodness, ha ha, I’m going to be so sick after this too!” Noelle laughs in the direction of her feathered friend.

Berdly wishes he had taken a Dramamine before doing this.

“Heh, if you feel sick now, just you wait until I’m finished with my warm up!” Susie shouts back to her over the wind.

“T-this is only a warm up?!?!” Berdly shrieks. “Susan, please remember this is a much simpler ride to set up since it’s non-permanent! It’s going to be far more delicate than those you would find at an amusement park-!”

“Ah shut your trap up Nerdly! This is going to be great! Plus, I ain’t gonna let nothing happen to you all.”

“*Urp* that’s why the term, ‘accidents’, exist!” He replies back sarcastically.

Susie responds by spinning the teacup faster and Berdly lets out a shriek.

Seeing though that Susie can not be convinced he turns his attention to the fair human sitting closest to him.

“Kris, Kris my fair and respectably intelligent friend! And someone Susie will actually listen to! Please, help end this madness! We’re over capacity and sanity apparently. We must make haste and convince our warden to see common sense before all four of us end up banned from the festival entirely!”

Kris removes their hands from the ride’s center wheel to put one up to their chin in thought. They think on it for such a long time, hope begins to blossom in his chest that they may start seeing reason soon. Only to watch that hope wilt away as they shake their head in disagreement. That would have been somewhat fine on its’ own, if they also hadn’t reached out their hand and grabbed onto his own.

“K-kris..?!” Berdly can feel the feathers on his face row warm. “While I am flattered as a fish at your forwardness, would you please take some time to assess what I proposed..?”

He’s cut short when the hands on his wings, pull them forward and force them onto the center wheel of the ride. His wings quickly becoming a part of the hand almagate pushing this ride further and further from the plastered, ‘Safety and Rules’, sign by the teacup entrance.

“Aw sick Berdly you finally giving in and joining us?” Susie yells over the wind, she genuinely looks excited though at the supposed flip in character.

“N-no! My hands have been forced! I did not agree to such foolish behavior!”

Noelle, who had previously holding onto Susie’s side as she spun, decides that now too is her time to join in. She places her cloven fingers gently over Susie’s own.

“You know, I’m not too strong on my own, but I think that combining ourselves together.. maybe it’ll work out??” Noelle laughs nervously.

Susie’s face flushes at the contact.

“H-hell yeah man! Me and Kris actually did something similar when playing an arcade game once! Dude you two are like, on the same wavelength!”

Too busy spinning the teacup, Susie doesn’t notice as Kris blows a raspberry in Noelle’s direction. This causes Noelle’s eyes to twitch. But her twitching only gets worse when Kris slides their other hand closer to Susie’s. Their other hand is keeping Berdly’s firmly on the wheel still.

For once, Susie actually takes notice of the extra appendage touching her hands.

“Dude, both of your hands are like, so freaking small! I could easily crush both of you in a thumbs war!” Her laugh is raspy. It’s something everyone in the ride can silently agree, is a lovely sound indeed. “They’re warm too…” Susie states quietly.

“Y-yeah. Your hands are really cold.” Noelle giggles. “Guess I’ll just have to warm them up for you!” She spreads her fingers wider to cover more surface areas, but with a burst of confidence, her fingers slip in between Susie’s own and she curls them slightly. “There! Now they won’t… fly off.. yeah! Fa ha ha!”

“Thanks Noelle…” Susie says gently before a shine returns to her eyes. “Now let’s make all hell break loose!’

“W-wait! The angle I’m at-! I’m not properly seated yet!!” Berdly squawks.

“Too bad!”

With the conjoined power of not yet, quite recognized young love, the teacup spins at a velocity never before seen in Hometown festival history. It is a shame that no one besides that skeletal ride operator will be able to witness such a glorious thing.

But it is not a shame to have no witnesses around when a small stream of a certain bluebird’s lunch is emptied out onto the ground in a perfect circle around the teacup.

With that, a button is clicked and the ride slows to a wobbly stop.

Upon the door being opened, the four teens exit. Berdly is the first one out, launching himself back to the safety of solid ground and practically on the ground begging at Sans feet to forgive him for the inconvenience of having a sensitive stomach.

“P-please I’ll clean it up I promise! It will never happen again I swear a gamers oath to it! Please don’t ban me from the festival-!”

“heh, you’re fine kid. you know I’m the janitor of my own shop, right? I’ve dealt with stuff way worse than this.” He assures.

With a babbling mountain of thank yous, the two watch as the others emerge from the ride. Noelle is holding Susie’s right hand, appearing to be giggling at something the scaly monster had just said. On Susie’s left hand is Kris’ own, but it’s unclear if Noelle or even Susie knows they’re holding it.

“Yo Nerdly dude wasn’t that sick!? I mean you look kinda sick right now, but what should we ride next? Ferris wheel maybe? How many of us can go in one of those little heart shaped cages?”

Berdly stares on in silent horror as she continues listing out rides, feeling as though if he were to go on anymore with these three, he may actually end up dead.

Sans scratches his head at the teens.

“I coulda swore there were only three of you on there…”

“Shit we’ve been discovered! You ain’t catching me alive!!”

With her declaration Susie begins sprinting off in the opposite direction of the teacup ride. Noelle is dragged willingly alongside her, adrenaline pumping through her veins. And Kris, still holding onto Susie’s hand, extends their other arm out to grab onto Berdly’s. Dragging him away to safety with them as he quick fires apologies to the monster behind them.

Sans with that ever fixed smile, watches as the four disappear into the bustling crowds of the Hometown Festival.

Notes:

That’s right every pony! Another Deltarune chapter, another slice of life, Hometown mini-series to go!

There will be laughs, there will be awe’s, there will hopefully be no more sickly Berdlys! (No promises)

There will be ‘will-they-won’t-they’ Lightnerds moments! Floral family times and will Ralsei be able to finally get along with that ‘Flower Man’???

Tune in to find out!

I must also confess something to you all… I am…. A multiple-shipper! That’s right! I’ve been loving Krusie and Kerdly, and Catelle and Ralsusie I love em all! So there might be moments in this series that hint at multiple of these lol, but possibly not too explicit, seeing as I don’t usually tend to write romance.
