“How does that even work? You said they-”
“Yes, I know what I said, that’s why I didn’t want to, um, tell many people… When a human dies, their soul is supposed to- uh, shatter inside their chest, sorta like glass, or- or something. But, as I was inspecting this body- it didn’t have a soul.”
Kris felt something tighten in their chest, deep within. It was like if guilt had constricted around their soul and squeezed, but why would they feel guilty? They didn’t know this other human, they had no idea there were others around this area at all, how could it possibly be related to them?
