The detective squad under Koenma jr stumbled upon an area where demons had been spotted only to feel the very ground having been purified. Getting them new orders to find the person who did it and to bring them in for questioning and to be protected and the small group figures the best way to do this is to take part in the inter-school exchange. Only to learn their target is something else and that there is a third party interested in their target.

Shen Yuan thought that the egg had so much potential, but obviously the good plot was forsaken for the papapa with the beautiful priest.
So, the never born egg actually hatched and snatched the System from the chariot of fate. It became SY’s ally and companion that will help him to live an easy life.He actually had lived a easy life for centuries: he founded a city, adopted some cuties, took care of some world ending problems, made powerful friends, had some sexual revelations and when he was bored he just wiped out his memories and began from zero.
Before the beginning of the PIDW he became a young disciple of Qing Jing Peak so he could observe the events from there, but he accidentally forgot the timeline and some names.
He eventually met some cute disciples that would change his life.
He faked a death, picked up other disciples and fallen in love with the wrong person that was not his destiny.

Binghe stared silently at Shen Qingqiu for a long minute. Then, slowly, he lowered him back onto the bed.
The silence continued.
Shen Qingqiu began to fidget. "What?" he asked.
Binghe opened his mouth, then closed it again. He looked pained. "Shizun…"
"What!" What was with that face, Binghe?!
"Shizun, if you don’t like men, then what are these dreams?"
Shen Qingqiu squirmed. "I know what you’ve seen looks…suggestive…"
"Shizun, I’ve had succubi try to seduce me with fantasies that were less explicit."

"After all these years, Shizun is finally apologizing, and it’s for the dreams?" Binghe said, incredulous. "Shizun, what about the Abyss?"

A shadowy portal opened in the middle of the room. A moment later Mobei Jun came through, followed by a group of armed demons.
There was a second of stillness as everyone stared at each other. Mobei Jun’s eyes scanned the crowded courtroom until he saw Shen Qingqiu.
"Get up," he growled. "We’re here to save you."

“Children?!” yelled one of the stupider humans, who clearly didn’t know the best way to talk to an undead hero. (Don’t, if you can help it.) “These demons slaughtered six good men!”
Or: When Shen Qingqiu wakes up in his new plant body exactly one day later than he does in canon, it throws the plot in a whole new direction.
