Summary
But he wasn’t alive, and she was reminded of it every time Huntr/x drew their weapons. Before, hers had been purple to match Mira and Zoey’s. But ever since that fateful day in the stadium…

The pain had been evident on his face. Lacerated in the glow of Gwi-ma’s hellfire. Meant for her. The mistake. Unworthy of her humanity or even the luxury of giving in to her demonic side.
They’d changed each other, Jinu and her. Left a mark that pierced deeper than Gwi-ma’s curse ever could. They’d written their names on each other’s hearts.
For all darkness, there is a light in equal measure.
But he was dead. Jinu hadn’t been cleaved by the holy light of a Huntr/x weapon; Gwi-ma had incinerated him directly. No amount of hope—no amount of her newfound empathy for demons' suffering—could bring him back to life.
