Aja’s father seeks revenge against the species of dragon that killed his wife, the Night Furies. So he and Aja sail to Berk with plans to return with the Night Fury’s head, but Aja is conflicted about their plan and her father, if perhaps revenge has clouded his mind, if letting the dragon go is the better course of action. Their ship is attacked before they can reach Berk, and Aja is rescued by a stranger, who turns out to be Chief Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. Aja, injured and weakened, is unable to return home, plus concerns about the safety of her traveling. By sick twisted fate, Aja had managed to wash up on Berk of all islands, and the Chief that had rescued her is the rider and owner of the Night Fury. She’s faced with whether she should carry out her father’s revenge in his honor, or if she should try to repay the stranger for saving her life, ending the never ending cycle of revenge and bloodshed.
