He didn't finish that thought, leaving the consequences of his eventual capture up to Lan Wangji's imagination. There wasn't much imagining to be had, though. He's heard of the poor cultivators caught by the Jiang Clan, believed to be conspiring in bringing back the Yiling Patriarch, tortured until all they yearned for was the relief of death itself.
Lan Wangji couldn't find it in himself to be afraid. The torture he had been living for the past years after Wei Wuxian's death had already been worse than anything Jiang Wanyin could possibly do to him.
In which Lan Wangji, Second Jade of Lan, grows tired of pretending like he can simply go on in life after the death of Wei Wuxian. He needs to take matters into his own hands, even if it means turning his back on the whole world.

As a general rule, Wally Darling was a tidy sort of creature. The type to carefully dust where no guest was bound to see and reorganize his cupboards whenever the mood struck him. So, on some whim he was sure to regret later, Wally uncharacteristically woke up on some morning before the rest of his neighbors did with the pressing urge to clean underneath his porch.
"I can't believe I've never thought of this before." Wally mused to himself, shuddering at the thought of the cobwebs he was sure to find underneath his home.
He stuck his blue pompadour underneath the crawlspace and frowned at the expected dirt, dust, and overall muck. What he wasn't expecting however, was the gaping black void that swirled and drew him in almost hypnotically. It wasn't a hole or a pit, it looked like Wally was looking at nothing at all, if such a thing was possible. For a wild moment he thought of falling inside and being swallowed by it, saw his neighborhood, his entire world consumed.
Wally turned off his flashlight and stood up, skittering inside with a nervous energy so unlike him.
"...I'll clean that up later."
It was a lie, of course.

After yelling at each other when they finally meet up in the same spot, they realize that they have to hole up in a car and road trip wherever the hell the kidnapper on the phone tells them to go.
Paralyzed with fear for their respective other halves, they grit their teeth and get in the car, throwing all caution to the wind as they make their way around the country. Hopefully, Stan and Craig can find it in themselves to work together.
