Chan didn't care if he upended their lives so long as they still amused him. He didn't love any of them. He didn't know if he could love in a romantic sense. Soonyoung and Vernon were both exceptions. They were all motherless children. Perhaps Chan saw himself reflected in Soonyoung and Vernon which made it easy for him to love and care for them because he certainly loved himself.
