“Grazie al cazzo / No Shit...” Nico grumbles, wincing as he moves. He takes a deep breath, and his chest feels free. A deep breath had never felt so good, aside from maybe when he got out of the jar, but even then-
Wait.Nico’s heart leaps to his throat. He’s wide awake now, his hand immediately going to his chest.
No bandages…
Nico’s eyes are wide and panicked as he scrambles to sit up. He pats his chest again, and reality settles like lead in his stomach.
No bandages.
His wild eyes look to Reyna and-
Oh, she knows.
“Nico, calm down. I’m not-“
“You can’t tell anyone,” he blurts, voice trembling. “No one can know; you hear me?”

After Lycaon’s claws viciously tore into Nico’s body during their escape, Reyna and Coach Hedge set about treating Nico’s wounds. In doing so, they discover something Nico planned to take to the grave. For the first time, Nico is forced to talk about the fact that he wasn’t born male, but in doing so he once more finds out just how much the world has changed since his childhood.

What was happening? Hades was a thousand-year-old god. He had seen empires rise and fall. He had seen humans commit acts of heroics and atrocities. He had seen Blockbuster go out of business. Nothing should faze anymore.
And yet… his son was making a valiant attempt at his sanity.
“I have no other explanation for why you have lost your ability to think and reason,” Hades told him shortly. “Are there other obvious things I should forbid while we are on the matter? Should I tell you not to bomb Olympus? Not to die?”
“I’m going to die someday.”
“Leave me,” Hades snapped at him. Unbelievable. Nico took a long intake of breath. “You don’t need to sigh at every little thing,” he added sharply. Nico paused. “Your life is not that taxing.”
“It’s not that-? I’ve been to Tartarus!”
“And what an impression it has made on you given that you are trying to return!”
Who tried to return to Tartarus? His son. That’s who. Maria was going to somehow appear and figure out how to kill a god.
Or
Nico said Hades forbade anyone from going in Tartarus and I just want to know what that conversation looked like.

Jupiter blinked.
And made a face.
The Sun paused. And chuckled. "...But I guess thats a bit of a mouthful for someone as small as you, huh?"
It had never felt right to call himself by those names anyway, considering how the little star couldn't even burn as bright as the other stars.
But then again... those others lost their minds. And Sun gained a planet.
After a bit of thinking... Sun sighed. And he lifted his precious planet back up to introduce himself again, his tone soft and eyes cloudy.
Jupiter smiled back.
Lighting up his surroundings more than any star ever could have done.
"...But you may call me... Sol."
Or

She was so focused on her new strategy that she didn’t bother to look where she was going until she was plowing over a tall but gangly camper right outside. When she managed to detangle her limbs, she found herself scowling down none other than Will Solace. She knew Will, everyone knew Will. Thirteen years old and the best damn medic the Camp had seen outside of Apollo himself. She narrowed her eyes. “What are you doing here?” she demanded harshly. “Meeting’s for head campers only, kid. Beat it.”
Will clutched the strap of his medicine bag with both hands and puffed out his chest with a defiant jut to his chin. “I’ll have you know I am a head camper; which you would know if you bothered to do your job.”
Clarisse, remarkably, didn’t rise to the bait. She had more important things to focus on. Namely, “Who the hell made you head camper?”
“Kronos,” Will said flatly. “Or, if you want to split hairs, Percy Jackson, considering he was the one who destroyed the bridge Michael was on.”
She swallowed thickly and turned to the Big House. “Right. See you inside, then.”

When Mrs. O’Leary crashed Percy’s English test, he decided to not look the gift horse in the mouth.
While the rest of his class was laughing about the poodle, he grabbed his bag and dashed down the hall. The middle schoolers’ building was right beside his, so Mrs. O’Leary didn’t have to wait too much for whatever thing she was trying to summon him for.
He skidded to a stop in front of the classroom and opened it haphazardly, not bothering to knock and check. Percy’s eyes went straight to the back of the classroom, where Nico was obviously trying not to fall asleep.
“Um,” Percy stammered when the teacher cleared his throat, shocked at the intrusion. “Nico, we need to go, Grandpa’s fallen down the stairs.”
“What?” Nico rose up, “How did that happen?”

When Will ventured into the underworld for the first time, he was hoping to find his sister. He did not expect to find Nico di Angelo.
After the tragic death of his sister Gracie, Will Solace hatched a plan - go to the underworld, seek an audience with Hades, and lead her out of the underworld just like Orpheus had tried before him - but his attempts were immediately waylaid by Hades’s mysterious son, Nico. What started off as a rivalry shifted into something more, and soon Will found himself dropping by the underworld every week to spend time with the boy who stole his heart - and whose heart he may have stolen back.
There was just one problem: Nico couldn’t leave the underworld and Will couldn’t stay. Despite the insurmountable odds, Will was determined to make a relationship between them work - if only he could find a way to get Nico out.
