Vulpes Inculta. Cesar's most trusted advisor, and leader of the Frumentarii. His eyes were shielded by sunglasses but I knew they burned into mine.The stench of burning corpses filled the air. The men whose bodies became the crosses they lied on, groaned in agony. They didn't dare beg to be put out of their misery within earshot of the Legion.
My voice caught in my throat, fear sank through me. Vulpes’s eyes peaked over his sunglasses, Those soulless bright blue eyes fit him. His lips curled into a sickening smirk, the sight sent a chill down my spine.
God, if you are truly listening, please smite that man.

Nobody could ever accuse Craig Boone of not hating the Legion enough. Except, when the Courier captures the Vulpes Inculta after her successful storming of Caesar’s Fort and locks him up in the Lucky 38, Boone wonders if he should start feeling pity for the former Legion officer.
Alternatively: something that was supposed to be NCR victory Courier/Vulpes Inculta quickly spiraled into a sort of post-game epilogue for Boone. (The fic is just Boone standing there watching the Courier and VI in barely disguised disgust.)
