Fidd jumps at the opportunity to assist an old friend when Ford finally calls him after years of nothing but letters. In a Shack away from prying eyes, with the companionship of someone that interacting with comes so easily, it is just as easy to fall back into old habits for better or for worse. As much as Ford adores his old friend, he doesn’t trust he won’t be misconstrued as a madman should the truth come out, and as much as Fiddleford is willing to open his eyes and try new things he can tell there is something very wrong with this idea he is helping Ford accomplish. "Impossible Year" follows the events of Fiddleford’s year with a “visiting researcher” and Ford’s writings of inventing the portal with his assistant, F. From the mundane moments of grocery shopping and pulling gnome hair from machinery, to the portal incident and the aftermath.

The police searched the house for any potential signs of a struggle, kidnapping, suicide, or anything. All they found was Illuminati paraphernalia.

Mabel and Dipper Pines receive an invite from their incredibly busy (hermit) uncle Ford to visit him in his home in the city for a few months.
Their Great Uncle Ford's home is a castle, and he is one of two rulers of the land.
It was odd for Ford to send for them, he was often off traveling and rarely ever spent more than a few weeks in one place.
(It totally was Not because Dipper had written several essay-like letters to his great uncle practically begging for an excuse out of his family home for the summer months)

...Perhaps not Well, but he's sure Stanley couldn't manage to cause any lasting damage to the children through his hair-brained schemes while they are under his care. At absolute worst Ford will have to look for better tutors, or just take on their education himself when he finds time to visit.He does regret not being able to meet them at the castle, but there is so much work to be done.

You get this mess of a fanfic that also includes pokemon references and shit for some reason. Fuck the author is in too many fandoms.

In this universe, Ford has experienced frequent nightmares and subsequent insomnia since he was a kid, so Stan was used to fights getting out of hand if his brother hadn't had enough sleep. When Stan gets called to Gravity Falls and sees Ford very obviously hasn't slept for days, he cuts their argument short and insists on not continuing the conversation until Ford takes a nap even when he has to drag him to bed kicking and screaming. Now the twins are stuck with each other and with Bill. Will they be able to work out their differences, or will Bill be able to divide and conquer?
