The pained expression came back with a vengeance.
“Is that, like, a sensitive topic or something?” asked Danny, cringing a little.
“The other prevailing theory, which I confess I find myself convinced by, is that the issue is not the illness itself, or that Lord Clockwork cannot do his duties, but rather…” The Expression intensified, and Danny leaned forward, concerned. “But rather that his former lovers arrive to take care of him, and then get into fights.”
Danny stared. “... His what?”
“His former lovers.”

Tucker thought he would never have to eat another blood blossom for as long as he lived, considering they were supposed to be extinct. But when it turns out that Sam has been growing some thanks to her budding friendship with Undergrowth, he's forced to snack on a few more, just to make sure that they can't become a threat to Danny. Should be no big deal, right? They were gross, but other than leaving a bad taste in his mouth last time, they hadn't had any other negative effects.
Well that's because, last time, he had been completely human. This time, it seems that's no longer the case. And the blood blossoms are no longer as benign to him as they once were...

Danny woke gasping, a searing pain radiating through his neck. His hands went up, fingers seeking, the chains bound around his wrists jingling like bells, beads of hot wax sliding down his arms. A heavy collar was wrapped around his neck, cold and comforting. The upper part cupped his chin and jaw and curved to touch the base of his skull. The lower part flared to rest on his breastbone and shoulders, distributing its weight.
It was unexpected. So much so that, for a long moment, Danny forgot he hadn’t expected to wake up at all.

Summary
Accepting Clockwork's offer to become his apprentice in exchange for freedom from the Fenton Thermos was only meant to be temporary. Dan figured he'd find a way to break free soon enough to resume his rampage and pursue his revenge on his younger self. But as time passes, Dan comes to find that he actually enjoys working with Clockwork, and as the pair of them begin to bond, he soon forgets all about his plans to escape.
But just as Dan starts to get comfortable in his new role, disaster strikes. He's now stuck serving as the Master of Time, trying to hold all of reality together after time itself is shattered, while his younger self is lost in the past, desperately attempting to piece Clockwork's core back together. It's a race against the clock to fix everything before time is broken forever, but thankfully they may just get a little bit of help in completely unexpected places.
One thing's for sure. Once the dust settles, the Infinite Realms will never be the same again.

Sailor_Toni's prompt: Danny may have been her friend once (maybe more than that) but that didn't matter. Today she had one job. Kill the Mad Ghost King Phantom and make sure he didn't come back.
Lexiepiper's prompt: This time the invasion attempt was still and quiet. Nobody noticed when the shroud settled over Amity Park, and by the time anybody realized that something wasn't quite right, reality had already shattered. (How would a successful ghost invasion change the city and residents, especially if it started subtly like with Nocturne or Undergrowth?)
