Summary
This is an inspired work of fiction that I am using as writing practice. I have been sending it *exclusively* to my best friend, but I thought it was too amusing not to put out there. That said, do not take this too seriously as some parts are written badly either intentionally or because I need to practice accepting imperfect writing/wording. My goal is to update once a week, so considering I am nearly 50 chapters in I don't think that will be a problem. If there are some things that look like a joke but you don't get it, it's probably an inside joke that's either between my friend and I or it's a local thing. I absolutely have incorporated actual people into this work (said friend included). Again, the only audience I am really taking into consideration when I write this is her, so many of the references are for her amusement specifically, if not for my own. That said, I was like 9 when Danny Phantom came out, and I had a HUGE crush on him back in those days. I would have been 11 when the show ended, so I would consider him to be older than me since he was 14 in the show, making him at least 3 years my senior. In that respect, my liking for him is age appropriate. This is as the subtitle says: a teenage dream.

After a bad reveal where even Jazz sides with the Fenton's Danny decides to go to her Biological father. He's never adopted a girl before but that doesn't mean he doesn't like them so she's hopeful he will give her at least a chance. And maybe just maybe she will get to be part of a family who loves and wants HER.

"You're telling me aliens are real?!" Danny cried, walking backward just to face his sister. Sam, walking beside him, instinctively guided his elbow away from a looming lamppost.
Jazz hummed a cheerful, noncommittal sound.
"And there are several living here on Earth?!" he pressed.
Jazz nodded again. Tucker quickly interjected, "And they are superheroes, don't forget that!"
"And they're superheroes!" Danny exclaimed. His face was so bright it was almost blinding, a metaphor Tucker entertained right up until he noticed that Danny's eyes genuinely were a tad too luminous for a human being. "Maybe you'll get to meet them one day."
"Maybe..." Danny whispered, trailing off into a dreamy silence.
A smile stayed plastered to Tucker's face, but his insides were churning. He was drowning in the realization that the massive problem with the GIW they were facing was likely a governmental conspiracy far beyond their initial scope.
How do you tell your best friend that this already terrifying situation is almost certainly way, way worse than expected?

Summary
In Germanic and Slavic folklore, a Mare or Mara, is a cursed, shapeshifting spirit said to rest upon a sleeper’s chest, feeding them nightmares, anxiety, and terror. Its presence is often described as suffocating, capable of causing cold sweats, dread, and even sleep paralysis.
Though mortals have long dismissed the tale as mere folklore meant to explain the unknown realm of dreams, the inhabitants of the Ghost Zone know better.
A malevolent parasite of a ghost that preys not only upon humans, but ghosts as well. Its corruption twists and damages the very cores of its victims, causing mutation and destabilization. Contact with such a creature is best avoided at all costs.
