This is the healthiest version of love I could realistically come up with for him. Emphasis on ‘realistic’. She can’t magically redeem him or fix him, even if she’s a professional, but she can stay.
Not a redemption arc! He won’t turn into a nice guy either. He’s still pretty much himself and I keep him as close to canon as I possibly can.
It’s a slow burn and by slow, think a sloth trying to cross the street and by burn, think it glows … very faintly … in the dark.

Alea grew up in Hell’s Kitchen, just like the infamous Daredevil had. Only no one knew who Alea was, until there was a custody battle that lasted months between her parents and her fathers lawyer was none other than Matthew Murdock the famed lawyer who sent Fisk to prison. To almost everyone's surprise Alea's father won the custody battle.
Not only that, Alea found out about Matt’s “night time side job” as she called it.
And ironically enough Matt found out that Alea also has abilities, much like him, only she can see. After about a year and a half of him helping her with her abilities and fighting much like Stick had when he was younger, only he was kinder and more understanding than Stick ever was. After many months more Matt introduces Alea to the Avengers.
After months of Alia growing closer and closer to the team Fisk is released from prison and something tragic occurs.
Obviosly the relationship between Matt and Alia is very much platonic
Also there may be POV changes because I originally wrote the fic in third person and some scenes are therefore suited for third person and I really like them. SO fair warning
