It had been, at the risk of understatement, a holy-twisted-hell, nine different flavors of fucked-up kind of month... but if you asked Dylan, he still would've admitted that it wasn't completely without its bright spots.
Not a lot of bright spots, really, like not enough to need both hands for the counting (which was lucky considering that he only had the one left anyways) but still, they were there.
Well... okay, maybe it was more like bright SPOT, but a really really bright one, though, in the shape of a mumble-y, cute, brave podcast connoisseur. The only problem there was that... he and Ryan hadn't actually talked in a few weeks. It had all seemed to be going so smoothly at first too, which only deepened Dylan's sighs over the whole fiasco, but then again, fiasco was his middle name and he'd made a private resolution to stop being such a drama queen about everything and instead try to just be, y'know, a regular queen.
_________________________________OR: Dylan is kind of Stage 4 smitten with Ryan, and due to his unfortunate status as the world's biggest idiot, it takes him way too long to figure out that Ryan wants him just as badly.

The poem was wrong, or at the very least misinterpreted. Killing the werewolf that infected you didn't cure you. It had to be the first werewolf, the very first- Silas. But Silas is missing deep in the woods somewhere and each of the counsellors have been bitten. Unable to put an end to their curse and with the full moon approaching once more, they have no choice but to return to the summer camp where their lives were changed forever over the course of just one night. It is up to them to work out how to deal with the trauma of what they went through, their new affliction and the new dynamics that are forming between the group.

He halted mid-step, then muttered under his breath as he pulled a little flap of leather from his pocket. “This good enough for you?”
She met him by the front of the car and grabbed the corner to angle it toward the light. His grip on it only tightened as her shaking fingers brushed his. If he noticed her trembling, he didn’t say a word about it. Staring up at her was a miniature version of the man glowering at her now. Same dark hair, dark eyes, frown lines, and prominent nose. Then she read his name: Sheriff Travis Hackett.
“Hackett, huh?” she mused before she could stop herself. Then she rushed to clarify, “Like Hackett’s Quarry.” No need to mention the woods they were standing in. Not after the trespassing accusation.
“Yes, ma’am.” He stuffed the ID back in his pocket and wrapped his knuckles on the hood of his cruiser. “Now come on, let’s get you back where you belong.”
