The other two tagging along Mike could cope with, but an actual murder, with one of Peter’s friends accused and demanding the Monkees solve it? That Mike could really do without. And when investigating puts them in the killer’s sights, it’s not only Mike and Peter’s relationship that’s threatened—it’s their lives.

Peter’s eyes glanced down for a moment, before speaking. “We have matching flowers.”
Michael didn’t answer immediately, just spending the moment appreciating the beauty of Peter. He didn’t think boys were pretty, not until he moved to California with a wife and baby in tow and saw Peter. But he brushed it off, making it out to be nothing more than simple admiration of a fellow musician. But his soul was beautiful too. The words he could easily find to describe anything, and so intricately too, was something Michael envied. Sometimes he wanted to be the laidback flower child instead of the straight-faced Texan, but the cards didn’t play that way. He had his ways to stick to, not to change his whole world just to get the attention of a man who was simply bored at best, and completely straight at worst. And Michael? Well, he didn’t even know where to begin with attraction. Throughout his life it was just girls, then Peter. And it would probably continue to be that way for eternity at this rate.
He finally snapped back to reality, nodding. “Yeah, we do.”
