Summary
Starting in the middle of S5E5.
Arthur is faced with an impossible decision. Accept the old religion back into his kingdom and save Sir Mordred's life, or continue his campaign against sorcery and condemn the young knight to certain death? After receiving advice from Merlin, Arthur decides to do something that will forever change the fate of Camelot, and hopefully his own destiny.
OR
What if Arthur accepted magic back into his kingdom to save Mordred, and then he quickly finds out that Merlin, who has been by his side through all of this, is a sorcerer himself? How does Arthur's decision with the Disir change his and Merlin's destiny?

Fifteen hundred years. I’m sure it’s been fifteen hundred years because I’ve felt every single moment of it. Every draw of breath, every step on the hard ground, every ounce of stark reality has been obvious to me. I’m not the same as I was. Time has a way of digging deep into your spirit and settling its claws there.
And I will wait. I have no choice, but I keep telling myself that wouldn’t matter.
It might not matter.
Would he even know me? Behind this familiar face is a creature who has lived the lives of hundreds of tortured souls. Does it show? Could he see the desperation there? If I made him look, really look...
If he were here, I like to think I could be who I once was. Could feel the release of the claws of time like a weight coming off my chest. I like to think that weight would be erased. That I would be whole again.
Have I only changed for the interim? Could that shroud be lifted for good?

Summary
Merlin Emerson, a hybrid Labrador/Wolf Therian (or Shifter) leaves his small town in Texas and travels to New Haven, Connecticut to attend Wildwood Academy, one of the most prestigious colleges for Shifters in America. While there he quickly realizes that his destiny is about to catch up with him when he bumps into his mate, purely by accident. He's arrogant, rude, and rich, the exact opposite of Merlin.
Oh, and he's a Cat.
Merlin will find a depth in Arthur that he isn't expecting, but also something more: a home. Somewhere he truly belongs, where he can be himself. Is this what he was looking for all along? Is this going to last? He certainly hopes it's not some cruel joke of fate.
