Yet, the pair is faced with their own problems as they explore the case, as people grow more and more invested in their private lives. A slip of the tongue leads to rumors that put the famous detective duo in danger.

The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes, rewritten as diary entries from John Watson in a writing style similar to that of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original books. Divergent from the canon of the film, to make it more loyal to the original characters, and to make the story more interesting.

He could hear voices outside that were scaring him half to death. He was engulfed by unrelenting dread and thoughts that the unspeakable would occur. His fear was tiresome, an incessant ache that he simply could never escape from, no matter where he hid. He knew that he should remain as motionless as possible, he had received the same basic military training as any soldier would, but without his comrades, he only had his imagination for company. Thinking about how good it would feel to be back home, even if he did have to ask Harry of all people if he could share her flat, was the only thing that could stop his imagination from going on a rampage. But it never stopped the ache. Nothing ever stopped the ache.

As John and Sherlock’s search leads them deeper and deeper into London’s criminal underground, it affects their physical and mental health. They keep dancing around eachother, and frankly, it’s hard enough to figure out your own emotions. The extra bit where people keep trying to murder them is frustrating. Unfortunately for everyone involved, Sherlock Holmes is very difficult to kill.
OR:There were moments when I looked at Sherlock and remembered the man I'd first met in the laboratory at Bart's. Brilliant. Arrogant. Impossible.
Then there were moments like this.
Sherlock, who was standing in the fading afternoon light, playing a lullaby for a sleepy little girl because she'd had a long day.
Sherlock, who pretended not to care and then went on and cared more fiercely than anyone I'd ever known.
Sherlock, who was looking at me in a way he never had before, gentle and soft and warm and a little melancholic.
I gave him a sad smile.
The music carried on, and for a brief moment, the world was held at bay beyond the windows of Baker Street. -
