As Jason watched, henchmen pulled one limp body free from its straps and tossed it unceremoniously aside. The kid looked alive, but barely, his body slack and listless, eyes blank and glassy.
Out of the corner of his eye, another of the dark-clad goons approached, a hypodermic syringe in his hand. A scream rose in his throat, but it never reached his lips. There was no point. Who would hear? There was no one coming to save him.
Just then, the lights flickered.

Damian watches as the boys are herded through the portal, but not before Dickie locks eyes with him. Damian twitches his right eye twice. It’s the only reassurance he can provide in this moment. Be strong. Be safe. I love you.
The beginnings of a smile ghost over Dickie’s lips, then he’s swallowed by the tear of light. A small fracture in their universe. Damian can only hope they’ll be all right. He trusts Tim to take good care of them. Better than he ever did.
He wonders what they will do with him and Father.
Whatever they decide, he hopes that it’s quick. But that’s probably more than he deserves.

The Robins that Clark had known had been mouthy, full of their own ideas, clever, and unwilling to take Batman too seriously – all of them. Seeing them so acquiescent was unnerving, and made Clark suspect they weren’t uncoerced accomplices.
“Have you changed your mind?” Batman asked.
“No.”
He wished he could be wittier, but that was about all he could manage.
“Kill him,” Batman said.
“He can still be useful,” the oldest – Dick, whatever his alias was here – protested. “We could still change his mind. We haven’t been trying very long.”
Batman turned on him, looming, and his eyes fell to the floor, he drew in on himself and hunched his shoulders, making himself a smaller target.Series

As a general rule, Bruce believed time, space, and dimension were not to be messed with. However, in this case seeing as an alternate universe’s Batman had come to their universe with the intention of killing him, replacing him, and tearing down their Justice League from the inside so his Justice League could implement their own brand of justice on as many universes as possible, it seemed like a problem best not left to fate.
“I say we take the fight to them,” Hal said. “If they want to go around messing with our dimension, then fucking up theirs is fair game.”
“Play on their home turf? No way,” Barry said. “They’re bound to realize their plan didn’t work eventually and then they’ll have to bring the fight to us.”
“And who knows how many other unsuspecting civilians that may be caught in the crossfire of their attack,” Clark said.
“I say we find out everything this imposter knows and then face them head on,” Diana said.
“Oh please, if that doesn’t work on our Batman, there’s no way it works on evil Batman,” Oliver said.
“Bruce?” Clark asked.
“It was a good plan,” Bruce said.

His thoughts are interrupted by a deafening Woom sound that sends goosebumps all over his skin and a blinding white flash that explodes in the middle of the cave, he squints at the source and barely has time to think as a black projectile is thrown past him by a figure he can’t make out as Batman utters a curse, followed immediately by a Red Blur that makes its way towards him and Batboy.
Barbra , he thinks pushing past all the confusion and fear, if he’s going to die, he wants his final thoughts to be of her. He thinks he’s earned this at least.
