He is standing on a motel balcony with his long-dead father, and when it’s just them he forgets about all the ways his life has changed since then, and how he’s trying so hard to make all these things fit and why won’t they fit what is he doing wrong— instead, he is six and eleven and seventeen and twenty one and that’s his dad and oh fuck does that mean a myriad of things he is incapable of thinking about because that's his dad and he just needs to stand here and listen.

“Did you have a party or something?” Regulus asked, eyes scanning the mess James made.
“You killed my friend, made me question my sanity, and scared off my roommate! I can’t afford my rent anymore!”
Even though James had planned out a whole list of things he wanted to say to Regulus, standing right in front of him now, he couldn’t seem to form a normal sentence.Regulus was rather amused by that. James wondered if he was upset because he’d trashed his apartment. His face was unreadable, not a single hint of emotion showing. It took him a while to respond. James almost thought he’d get an apology. He felt he deserved one.
“Well, yeah. But you got some really nice clothes out of it.”
James stared at Regulus in disbelief. Okay, no apology. That’s fine. Great
“What are you going to do with that?” Regulus asked in a playful tone, nodding towards the gun.
After a moment of hesitation, he replied. “I’m going to kill you.”
Regulus chuckled, not even letting him finish. “No, you won’t. You like me too much.”

Slowly, she approaches him. Everyone else in the room watches them like hawks. Absorbed by the drama of it all. Liam isn’t sure whether he wants to scream or spit, or cry, or laugh at the absurdity of it all. This is his mom. His rock. The one person in the world who promised that she’d always love him, regardless. It shouldn’t be this hard.
Her hands reach him first. Cold palms coming to cup at his cheek. Liam flinches, a little. He’s glad she acts like it didn’t happen. There’s a brief moment where he wants to let that sinking feeling of guilt in his gut swallow him whole. The embarrassment burning across his face.

Basically post hogwarts domesticity. The war never happened, Voldemort was never a thing, just... Pure, human behaviour.
The only couple from Hogwarts that's still together is Moony and Padfoot, and the marauders (and the Valkyries) decide to all meet up together for the holidays. They rent out a Muggle cottage somewhere in the mountains in europe for two weeks and basically just act like teenagers.
A few days into their trip, they encounter a second group that coincidentally decided to go on a holiday in the exact same place at the exact same time - the Slytherin skittles (they're in a cottage down the road). Obviously, they all get together, decide to put their differences aside and just... Become Friends. Maybe. We'll see how it goes.
I really care about this story and I hope I manage to write it!! And well. I hope you like it <3
