When Orion woke up they felt like shit. The assassin opened their eyes, which took far too long to focus, and a figure loomed above them. They tried to turn onto their side, away from the figure, only to gasp as it felt like their side was being torn open.
‘Don’t move,’ said the figure, who they realised was Ed. He gently pushed them back down onto the mattress. Orion whimpered, suddenly sapped of all energy. Ed looked like a wreck. His usual, pristine green suit was reduced to nothing but a pair of slacks and a half-buttoned shirt. His hair was all over the place.
‘Ed, where...what’s going on?’ The words came to them at a frustrating pace. Talking shouldn’t be this difficult...
‘Safehouse. You were injured. Do you remember?’
