Summary
Loneliness is an insidious thing. When Merlin looks at Arthur, he sees not just a prince waiting for his time to rule, but a young man struggling to find his place in the world, with little help from anyone else.
The truth is, Arthur needs more than the friendship Merlin can offer. He needs people he can trust: men and women who will become his court and his confidants, and if he is going to survive to take the throne and lead Camelot into its golden age, he needs them sooner rather than later.
Finding loopholes in Uther’s laws is no easy feat. Court life is a dangerous game, but it’s one Merlin has every intention of winning so that Arthur can have knights of his choosing by his side.
And then there is the matter of his magic…

Summary
'What if –' Arthur's voice choked as if a noose had tightened around his throat, strangling him to silence, but he persevered all the same, his eyes fluttering closed as if he could not bear to see Merlin's reaction. 'What if I wanted that? A handfasting between us?'
---
After a long, stressful winter at court, Merlin decides Arthur needs some time away from the castle to reclaim his peace. Can he bring his prince the pleasure and tranquillity he needs to carry on, or do the old gods have other plans for them?

Summary
'Merlin, my friend. What –?'
'I need your help hiding a body.'
Every man in the antechamber froze, the silence thick and breathless. No one so much as moved as they all stared at the threshold, where the door stood ajar only a fraction, blocking them from view.
Yet it was Lancelot's reply, carried on the edge of a weary sigh, that made disbelief stutter in Arthur's chest.
'Again?'
******
A fragment of overheard conversation leads Arthur and his knights deep into the Darkling Woods, where the truth about Merlin's magic finally comes out.

'Will you show me?'
Merlin eased back, raising his eyebrows.
'Not Camelot,' Arthur hastened to explain. 'I'll see that for myself.' He grinned, bright and boyish, at the thought of the long, shared future that lay ahead of them. 'I want to know what London was like before you came here. To us.'

Summary
Merlin's eyes changed when he did magic. He knew that. In the privacy of his own head, Arthur had come to think of that golden gleam as beautiful since he'd discovered the secret of his sorcery. This was different. It crackled like lightning; a storm held in Merlin's gaze. It cast brief light upon his cheekbones, spilling odd shadows across his face.
'What's happening?'
'He is dying,' a woman's voice said, sugar-sweet. 'And he will take you with him, Arthur Pendragon.'
---
A routine hunt threatens to become a fatal disaster when Arthur and Merlin are captured and imprisoned in a dungeon used during the Purge. Can they fight their way to freedom, or will Merlin's power be the death of them?

Summary
Hiraeth the story can be read as a stand alone complete fic, but I'm popping the one-shots in here too just to keep it organised! Marked as complete because there's no ongoing storyline, but I might add more oneshots in time 💖

Summary
As days became months, John found himself overlooking the cat-like characteristics or the occasional moments of Felisian behaviour. He forgot about Sherlock's sharper-than-usual canines and the way he could see in the dark. So what if he lived with a rare genetic variant of Homo sapiens, rather than a bog-standard example of the general population?
It was just Sherlock, unique in every respect and captivating for his mind as much as his physical appearance.

Summary
A whore is not someone you attempt to woo or charm. A whore is not someone you should strive to impress. A whore is someone whose opinion matters very little. Someone you rent for a bit of fun and release. You just put money on the table and they get to say yes or no – and for the record, they seldom say no. So a whore is no one to pine for. Which is just as well, because Arthur isn’t pining for anyone.
And certainly not anyone who’ll disappear off with any random knight for the right amount.

Summary
All in all, Arthur was one of those men about whom it could be said that their heart was in the right place, although he did take great pains to hide it. Still, the core of decency made Merlin endure the thick layers of arrogance (and their thin crispy crust of arseholery) with more patience than he’d ever thought possible. There was indeed a promise of greatness about Arthur that Merlin was willing to believe in.

Camelot Publishing publishes romance novels, and when Arthur founds a new imprint of gay romance and invites his best friend and pet writer Merlin to write for it, it's a bit too easy to miss the fact that apparently he's living in one.

Summary
“I was wondering if you might come home with me.” Merlin stops mid-rant and stares at him, and then down at his panini again, and back at Arthur. This is a panini of lies and pain. He can tell already.
“For Christmas? I’ve got an uncle and a mother and a sister waiting for me at home, in case you hadn’t remembered, I’m not going home with you just because you’re a workaholic.”
“No, it’s. My mum might be under the impression that we’re a little bit married.”
In which Merlin gets conned into spending Christmas with Arthur's family and pretending to be his husband, because somehow this is his life.

Summary
“We lived together before and we both survived, didn’t we?” Arthur doesn't take the bait.
“Barely,” Merlin answers, picturing their uni days. The first taste of living with anyone other than his mother or sleepovers with Will. It all made for strange, dreamlike memories, for all that it has only been a few years past.
He feels like a very old twenty five most times. He shouldn’t be this age and so tired.
