There was no reason for her to be proud. Where else but a hospital would have such a strong scent with beeping machines and IVs to be ripped out? Besides, the fact that he was in a hospital at all, no doubt forcing Aunt Cass to relive the horror of Tadashi all over again just like he was, made him even more undeserving of her love.
Hiro suddenly wakes in the hospital, several days after a battle gone wrong. He is weakening quickly, stuck between flashes of painful memories and trying to make sense of where he is and why everything hurts so much. Aunt Cass is trying her best to calm him but her own fears threaten to consume her. She already lost Tadashi and her sibling, she can't bear to lose Hiro too.

Then, calmly, he rested his head on George’s and held him closer, hummed to create a bit more warmth with his powers. George let out a sound that could be a hum, or could have been a purr, if he wasn’t a human with nature powers versus a hybrid like Ant or Sapnap themselves.
“Hey. I’m his best friend.” Dream pointed out. Looking up, Sapnap met his gaze and half-laughed.
“Ehhh…are you?” He looked at Dream and half-smiled. “Are you, Dreamie?”
Dream shoveled a bunch of soup into his mouth. “Shut up.”
