There were still images that intruded like a light-drunk moth, flapping erratically across her field of vision, demanding her attention. She saw Korra in a classmate who wore the same shade of blue nail polish as she had, keeping up the color even in the muck of the outdoors. She saw Korra every time she went swimming, picturing the way she would routinely hide behind the dock on the lake, fingertips hanging off the edge, trying to stay in the water even after the lifeguard had left. And she especially saw Korra when she encountered snakes; occasionally harmless rat snakes would drop from the trees in the park by her house, and she would make an effort to coax them out of roads and pathways, remembering the deliberate way Korra had cared for the one she had found.
Asami had spend years frustrated with herself that she couldn’t seem to let go of this…what was it, even? Obsession was too strong of a word, because it wasn’t like she was consumed with thoughts of Korra every waking moment, but fascination? Regret? A missed opportunity.

Mako was done. He was done with her. Done with his problems. Done with high school and certainly not going to college after not getting an offer. A opportunity to escape from it all presented itself and he took it -

A opportunity that had its upsides. Iroh was one of those, a former competitor that turned into one of his closets brother-in-arms. Feeling achieved and having purpose was also big one... but most of all, being able to see anybody he so pleases to forget the sleeping pressure back home was a second.
But, again, there was sure to have downsides... downsides that would eventually land him back to the start of one of his main problems he so dearly ran away from.

Summary
Lin felt a lot better after the fight with Su. She wasn't quite a new person but she was ready to be more open and honest with people who matter to her. One of those people happens to be Kya, who she did not expect to see at all. It would also seem that Su wasted no time being the scheming, teasing little sister she was before. Having Kya there was once again throwing all of Lin's emotions out of control. It was feelings she swore she was better off not feeling because that way it hurt less when Kya wasn't there.
