Summary
A season 4 rewrite (that will most likely lead into a season 5 rewrite if I finish this) in which I set out to do three things.
1: Make RoNance happen as soon as possible (not actually, I'm pacing myself, much to my own chagrin)
2: Explain how the Upside-Down could work because all of the half-baked explanations in season 5 made me wish they had done it well. (Note, the inspiration for doing this in the first place, as well as a lot of my conclusions come from gaystarfishnani's "Video Killed the Radio Star", so if you find any of this interesting, please go pay their fic a visit.
3: Maybe fill some gaps in the selection of RoNance smut on the site while I'm at it -

Summary

Everyone is dealing with the trauma of fighting “Vecna” and trying not to lose their freedom— or their minds. They are all trying their best to repair what had been broken by the absurd events, but following through with any of the runaway plans could ruin Vickie’s reputation, and destruct her dreams. When she somehow gets roped into Mike’s conflict, she has to make a decision between loyalty and safety.
The events following the conclusion of Stranger Things before the epilogue takes place (in the timeskip) through Vickie’s perspective.

Immediately post-Season 4, the gang are catching up and reuniting at Hopper's old cabin. Mike, who's been on the edge of a panic attack for the past few days, excuses himself to get some 'fresh air'- unbeknownst to anyone but Joyce, who still isn't fully up-to-date on the Vecna situation. After about 30 minutes, the group notices his absence and are immediately concerned. They can't find Mike anywhere in the surrounding area, but they find the exact thing they were dreading; a small gate.
Mike finds himself in the Upside-Down, but the circumstances are strange. Vecna is nowhere to be seen and the area around him is completely barren. It's an elaborate plot to torment Mike with his greatest fears; forcing him to relive his own worst memories with his family and friends by his side.
How much could one kid have to hide, anyways?
