wilbur’s eyes watch him carefully, unmoving as tommy’s person moves forward and slots himself up against one of wilbur’s sides. if you tried to look carefully, wilbur’s player stands straight up looking down at tommy, while tommy’s crouched against him, and the whole moment feels utterly soft.
he's tired, sleep-deprived, lonely, and he's seconds away from his nerves shooting through the roof. he wants wilbur, and if the only way to get wilbur is platonically cuddling with him in a fictional game server on a computer, he will do that.

“I’ll just use the medkit under my sink,” Tommy shoves away Ranboo’s hands. “I can climb into my room instead of the front door so Tech and Wil don’t see. Or Phil.” Tommy tacks on.
It’s a bit of stretch, but Tommy’s only got such a good deal of cards. He’ll count his blessings and take what he can get.

Okay, but Wilbur was being a little bit pissy that day. Just a little. That’s what Tommy can pick up from rewatching the vod. Wilbur was definitely a little pissed before starting. Not all of it is Tommy’s fault for making the environment so awkward. The muted bit was definitely their fault, not Tommy’s.
Tommy ends up rewatching his MCC 5 vod, just to make sure it gets better- and it does- as the whole vod is just Tommy constantly missing his friends.
“I miss my friends,” Tommy whispers, eyes warm as he gazes at his friends across the Decision Dome. “Look at them- I miss them.”
No one hears him.

“Well,” Wilbur murmurs, making his way over to tilt Tommy’s head, “you are one of them, but you're not just one of our things. You're still Tommy."
“I see,” Tommy replies, softly, as if to not disturb the little trance Techno is in, his crimson eyes sparkling as he stares at the golden spread across Tommy’s curls. Wilbur seems to be following suit.
“Yeah, no," Techno murmurs, butting his head against Tommy’s chest, “we’re keeping him.”
