The day it last did, time raced quicker than a blur. It felt like he was running out of time, it felt like time was running away from him. People his mother called ‘bad men’ with guns barged into his home—though they all promised him they were going to keep him safe—that was the last time he saw his parents in casual clothing, and not orange scrubs.
The months after that went too fast. He could barely remember why he's here in the first place, why he's now under Phil's care. The orphanage said he was ‘qualified enough’, but to Techno, he is more than that.
Phil doesn't own a bat. Phil didn't raise his voice. And Phil didn't give him bruises.

Tommy faces his brother. He's fast asleep, expression as mellow as the day Tommy met him, except there were fewer scars and lesser guilty grudges.
“Yeah, you better sleep well,” he mumbles. “When you wake up, all your possessions will be gone,” he adds jokingly.
Techno doesn't move a muscle, maybe it's because he had fallen straight into the chasmic cracks of sleep, or maybe it's because he knows Tommy won't be leaving this room until Phil comes back anyway.
The boy would be lowered into his grave before Philza Minecraft witnesses him become attached to his older brother like a needy kid. Again.
