Chapter Text
“Bachira!?”
Rin couldn’t believe it. Bachira was his oldest friend, but he hadn’t seen him in almost a year. He believed that he was killed, because when you’re an assassin, and you don’t see someone for more than a month, it means they’re dead. And Isagi had already mentioned him in an unfavourable light, so he was inclined to think that he had had Bachira murdered.
Or had done it himself.
“Miss me?”
Striding over to him, Rin threw his arms around him and hugged him, just like he had done when he was thirteen and he received the news about his parents dying.
“I’m undercover,” Rin whispered. “I was never in PXG.”
Bachira acknowledged him by hugging him a little tighter.
“I thought you were dead,” Rin muttered, holding him close.
“Don’t worry, Rin-chan,” Bachira replied. “It’s gonna take a lot more than a bitchy sprout-head to get rid of me.”
“What do you mean? Sprout-head? Wait you mean–Isagi?”
“Yeah, he tried to kill me after he dumped me, but I disappeared.”
“How? I mean, did he try doing it himself, or…?”
“Yeah, he showed up at my place late at night to shoot me, but I’d already left by then.”
“What about Barcha? You can’t really just disappear from an assassin group, right?”
Bachira threw his head back and laughed. “Lavinho doesn’t give a shit. As long as people get killed. It doesn’t matter who. A bunch of Barcha guys ‘mysteriously’ died after I left. Lavi knew it was me. After I came back, he treated me a little better than the others, I wonder why, huh?” he smirked at Rin, who smiled back at him.
“It’s good seeing you again, Bachi.”
“Same here, Rin.”
Ness was awkwardly waiting at the door, not fully understanding what was happening.
“Uh, Rin?”
Rin turned back, a little annoyed. “What?”
“Look at the bed, maybe?”
For Isagi and Kaiser were both lying on the bed, unconscious, gagged and bound tightly.
Snapping his head back to Bachira with a puzzled expression, Rin asked, “Was this you?”
Bachira smirked. “You tell me.”
“How did you even–you know what, I shouldn’t even be surprised by now. But seriously, how?”
“I knew a bunch of Bastard München guys would be here; Gomez was an idiot, staying so close to your headquarters. He wasn’t much of a threat, so they’d only send the rookies. I got news that a newbie joined. Knowing Isagi, he’d probably come with you. I was planning to get him when he was on that balcony, but he jumped off too soon.”
“Still the same old Bachi, huh?”
“And,” Bachira sounded regretful, “I saw what he did to you, and I’m sorry I didn’t do anything. I–he did the same thing to me. He raped me, and that’s the only reason we were dating. He’s a dangerous person, Rin. He needs to die.”
Rin smiled a little sadly. “I couldn’t agree with you more.”
Meanwhile, Ness was working on untying Kaiser.
Bachira looked over at them. “Oh, yeah, Bitchsagi was fighting with that guy, so I sneaked up on them. Didn’t know who the blonde was, so I tied him up, too.”
“And how exactly did you get them unconscious? Chloroform?”
“Nah. Good old-fashioned knockout, “ Bachira replied with a wide smile, pointing to bruises on the back of both their heads.
Ness looked a little mortified at what he had done to Kaiser, but approved of Isagi’s wounds, which were far more severe.
Kaiser woke up, finding Ness still undoing the ropes on his ankles.
“Was zur Hölle…wo sind wir, Lexi?”
Ness replied to a disoriented Kaiser, “Ich erkläre es später, Micha.”
Bachira looked confused. “What’re they saying?”
Rin replied, “I don’t know. He’s probably wondering what’s happening.”
Just then, the door burst open, Ness forgetting to lock it in his bewilderment.
“Rin!”
Utterly perplexed, Rin turned around to find a certain tanned man, with a look of utter relief on his face.
He had seen this guy. Somewhere…oh, yes, on the flight here.
“Who are you?”
Something seemed to flicker and die in the man’s eyes, and Rin noticed it.
He took a look. A very close look.
His hair was black, but his lashes were blonde.
His arm had the same long scar on it from their first mission together.
He could tell that he was wearing contacts.
“Ryusei?” Rin cautiously stepped forward.
Ness rolled his eyes. “Seriously, Rin? Why do you know so many people?”
Shidou hissed, “You’re kinda ruining the moment, man.”
Having confirmed his identity, Rin ran forward and kissed his boyfriend on the lips.
He had missed him, despite being away from him for only a day or so.
A lot had happened since then.
Ryusei finally broke the kiss, holding Rin in his arms.
“What’re you doing here?” Rin asked, still a little confused.
“Following you, I guess? Just to make sure you’re safe. I saw you head back inside with that dude, “ he pointed to Ness, “so I knew you’d be inside. And, uh, I saw what happened with Isagi.”
Rin’s smile dropped. “Can we…not talk about that?” he whispered.
“Of course, Rin-Rin.”
“I’m sorry to interrupt you guys, but Isagi’s waking up; look. Shidou, you’ll need to get outta here, if he sees you here with Rin, you might be his next target.
Shidou nodded, pressed a quick kiss to Rin’s cheek, then ran back to his own room.
Isagi blearily opened his eyes, taking in his surroundings.
