Chapter Text
Something was wrong. Something was very wrong. Roksu felt the weird feeling creep into his mind again. Why did Cale Henituse react like that?
He couldn't get it out of his mind no matter what he did. It had been two days since then yet even thinking about his potential slacker life did not help. But.. Why should he bother? Who was Cale Henituse to him anways.
Roksu.
Roksu looked down to see On staring at him. Gently he picked her up in his arms and held her.
What are you thinking?
Hmm?
The kitten rolled it's eyes before tapping him.
I should have said this sooner. Thank you.
Roksu's impassive expression cracked.
As he ate, On's words repeated inside his head, it was quite a contrast to what he had witnessed with Cale Henituse. He wanted to laugh at the irony. On and Hong would have both been dead if they hadn't bought them along.
.
.
Cale Henituse wasn't there.
Of course Roksu shouldn't be too surprised considering the redhead had been considered an alcoholic who never treated his own family properly.
Rather, the redhead hadn't been present during any of the times they hung out with the other member's of the Count. He sighed. The very fact that he was thinking about it was bothersome. He had to send Choi han on his way and prepare for his slacker life.
It was probably nothing. Roksu nodded to himself as he continued to eat. They would soon leave the mansion and be done.
.
.
Later that night as he stood by the window to his room he saw a figure walking in the garden, the fiery red hair unmistakable in the moonlight. His eyes narrowed as he observed that the person seemed to be walking barefoot.
Should he? Damn it. Rok Soo rolled his eyes as he opened the glass like window doors to the balcony and hoisted himself up. Thank luck he was on the second floor only. Slowly he let himself down, landing lithely. Cale Henituse stood on the path before him, a few yards away. The other didn't seem to notice anything amiss.
Roksu walked closer, stopping when he remembered the other's reaction to him touching him. He frowned, maybe he should consider making some noise-
Thud.
Roksu fliched, looking up, only to see that the redhead had collapsed on the spot he stood on.
He moved forward without thinking, gently lifting the other into his arms, the other had lost consciousness it seemed. Roksu stared intently at the now peaceful face for a moment, his expression complex. He didn't know why he was doing all this. He could have pretended he never saw the redhead. He sighed and looked around. There should be a way to go back into the mansion without using the main entrance...
Minutes later he had navigated himself to Cale Henituse's room.
It was huge and well decorated yet he noticed how the hallways leading to Cale's room were all but empty, almost like this part of the mansion was abandoned. As he lay the other down on the bed he frowned, his expression complicated. The room was huge, spectacular infact but as he laid the redhead and retreated he felt that the figure lying on the bed was too small and lonely. He couldn't take his eyes of him.
The soft light of the moonlight highlighted the pale features of the redhead and for a moment Rok Soo couldn't look away. He stood mesmerized. However his trance like state was broken when a sound reached his ears. Soft sobs broke the silence making him tense. He reached out, wanting to wipe the tears that streamed from the other's eyes, but when his palm touched the redhead's face, the other trembled, his eyes flew open, a terrified look overtook the otherwise soft reddish brown pupils, making them murky such that it made Rok Soo wanna reach out and crush whatever it was that scared the redhead to the point of breaking down into shambles.
Stay away.
Rok Soo raised his palms, backing away slightly to show that he wasn't going to hurt him. He didn't know why was bothering with this. Cale watched him through tearful eyes, yet even as the tears flowed, his eyes were filled with anger and rage.
It's okay.. I won't do anything..
He didn't understand why he uttered those words of reassurance? Why did the other need any? Who was Rok Soo to meddle in this.. he should just leave.. However he was snapped out of his thoughts as he watched the redhead curl into himself, his cries sounding so pitiful that it made even Rok Soo uncomfortable. Ah yes.. it was pity. Rok Soo felt relieved. He pitied the redhead.
He moved forward.
Come here.
His voice was low and curt, but he was more confident now that he knew what he felt. He couldn't leave this brat like this. Not when he was crying so pitifully.
GO AWAY.
Rok Soo blinked as his outstretched hand was slapped away. He sighed and sat on the edge of the bed, facing away from the other and towards the wall. He could hear the sobs but he couldn't do anything... Why did pity make his heart feel like it was being crushed slowly?
He flinched when he felt a weight behind him. Cale was leaning against him. He tensed. The other didn't seem to mind for he could feel the other bury his face, the wetness slowly sweeping into his shirt. He wanted to turn around and hold the other.
Stay like this... please.
How could Rok Soo refuse him when he said it like that? He didn't know why but he felt emotions that he couldn't name swirl within him... and for once he decided to stop thinking, letting the other lean against him. He stayed till Cale fell asleep against him upon which he turned around, laying the redhead onto the bed and tucking him in before walking away.
