It has been ten days since Tim Bradford had his heart beating so loud that he could feel it thumping in his ears. Ten days since he tried to convey in his gaze every ounce of desire he felt for the gorgeous woman in front of him. Ten days since he had to use every restraint he had to stop at a respectable distance while asking the said woman out on a date. In uniform. Inside the Watch Commander's office. For the second time, he might add.
It has been ten excruciating drawn-out days, and he hasn't been able to collect his date with Lucy Chen.OR: Some speculation about 5x10 according to what we've seen in the promos.

Based off the songs 23 and Littlething by Jimmy Eat World which are the best songs ever, not sorry. I basically wrote this while listening to both on repeat and this is what came out.

Finally, something dawns on him, a way to handle two goals simultaneously. He’d seen Hollander’s mother flipping through papers rapidly when they first got here, seeming calm and in control and more than a little frightening in a way that made Ilya mildly glad he wasn’t one of the people responsible for a clipboard. If anyone can tell him if the long list of “Prohibited Items” he’d been sent in his email a few days ago is just standard practice for big shoots, it would be Yuna Hollander.
Or, hopefully, her son.
“Crazy we cannot even have peanut butter, eh?” He asks. “You also got giant list?”
Hollander stiffens, almost imperceptibly, and Ilya tilts his head, just slightly, confused, wondering if he’s stumbled somewhere unexpected.
(how ilya learns about shane's allergies) (and shane's sexual awakening tragically hits a speedbump in the process 😔)

When Shane sticks it out at Ilya's house, and the tuna meltdown doesn't happen, he still walks away confused about what Ilya actually WANTS from him. When an opportunity presents itself in the form of Rose Landry and a very thorough PR relationship contract, Shane decides to take advantage of it to show Ilya that he can be a totally chill and normal friend with benefits, and definitely isn't too attached.
