“There you are. Been lookin’ everywhere for you. Hardison, are you seriously still— Woah, woah. You good, sweetheart?”
Rough voice, annoyance quickly followed by concern. Eliot. It takes all of his coordination but Hardison manages to turn toward his man, and when he catches sight of him his thoughts get all muddled because hold on, since when is there two of him? Two Eliots? This must be his lucky day.
“Eliot!” he says, and now that he’s made words—or a word, technically (whatever)—he notices that his tongue feels thick in his mouth. “Hey—where’d you find the twin?”
The faces of both Eliots are kinda fuzzy, but Hardison can see just enough of them to be able to tell that their expressions take the same journey that their voices did, annoyed furrowed forehead and angry frown shifting into raised brows and an open mouth.
“Alec,” they say, sharp like a warning, “don’t— Darlin’, hold on, don’t get up—”
And then Hardison’s falling.
