This work was made in May of 2024, and since HL2VRAI is now coming out, this fic is no longer plausible in canon. basically, Heisenberg confronts Ethan after the castle, and Ethan is like "ugh fine ill help or whatever just don't get in my way" and this leads to them both surviving, and then their adventures of trying to settle into a "normal" life afterwards. will they fall in love? UHHH. I'm planning on it!
