It’s so out of the ordinary that Riley’s almost convinced themself it was a butt-dial, or something, when she hears a soft, shaky inhale from the other side of the phone.
Something’s wrong.
“What happened?” Riley demands, climbing out of bed and fumbling around in the dark for their clothes, phone pressed between their ear and their shoulder.
“I’m at the hospital.”
Riley resists the urge to make a joke about Abby being long overdue for a car accident with the way she drives by telling themself that that’s something Lee would say right now. “Are you okay?”
“Lee tried to kill himself.”

007n7 is trying to show himself to others as someone worthy and pays heavily for it, while Guest starts to untangle some of his own pent up emotions. Along the way helping the former hacker get back on his feet. Both are ultimately idiots in love, every sharp edge and imperfection included.
