    Juleka walked into the bathroom, still ruffled by sleep. Still, her brother had screeched like a fox in mating season - something he hadn’t done since they were very small and she’d played a prank on him that included three watermelons, a flute, and a pail of sand. She wondered what could possibly cause him to make that sound.

    Luka sat, curled into fetal position, on the bathmat in the corner of the room. He let out tiny sobs.

    Juleka was concerned. Nothing really shook Luka, so this had to be bad.

    “Luka,” she started, coaxingly. “What’s wrong?” He cried a little louder.

    “My”- he hiccuped. “My- my eyelashes are gone!”

    Ross would have the ammunition he needed to get Iron Man under his control, and what he'd do with the tech didn't bear thinking about.

    Tony decided to use Protocol Pass The Torch. He'd be fine. A penniless fugitive's life would make a nice change of pace. Everything would be peachy keen.

    (Tony miscalculated the pull the world had on him. He also miscalculated how many people would join him. Ultimately, Thanos underestimated him.)

    Once upon an unforetold time, the yarning began.

    Each thread met others, intertwining with each other. Oftentimes, they were made to twist and get stretched thin. Even so, all these still led them to be woven into a tapestry. One so profound, lovely that it became the only one of its kind. And it would've remained as such had a simple jinxed shard not undone its knots abruptly.

    But, as time marched on. As seasons changed. As the world continued to spin.

    The yearning persisted.

    The yearning to connect. To know one another anew. To be threaded together once more.

    And if there's one thing these hardened strings knew, it's to make sure all that comes true.

    After the so-called “school year of Overblots”, Lilia and Yuu thought there's nothing else that would stand in their way. Because what else was left to achieve besides Happily Ever After? It turns out a single simple lapse of judgment would be the start of a longer nightmare.

    But, as the old folks would say, there's light at the end of every dark tunnel.

    Should they will it to be, they might even find their string of fate to be sturdier than before. Enough to carry a new reason to love one another.
