Summary

Floating alone, years from his home planet, Jimmy is found by the Galactic Search and Rescue team: a group of intelligent aliens with technology he had never seen before. Wings twitched. Posture straightened. Ears burned bright red. If Scar didn’t know any better, it could have been construed as interest being piqued. And if on cue, the Phantom muttered under his breath, “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” Scar echoed, “If you’re so curious, I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.”
He had said it as a joke, but as seconds ticked by, it became clear that it hadn’t been heard that way. In fact, even with a mask in the way, it really looked like the avian was deeply considering the offer. Curiosity greater than his prudeness.

Tango laughed. It was, on the surface, a happy sound; however, there was something underlying it, a- coldness.
“This guy you’ve been sneaking out to meet! I mean, c’mon, three months and you haven’t even introduced us? What kind of boyfriend are you?”
“I mean, it’s not really like that-”
“Oh, I see… So is it like a friends with benefits thing then or-”
“Tango!” He cried, mortified, now fully facing him on the bed.
“-No! It’s not that.”
“Then what?" The man asked, "-What is it Zed? What is it that you’re so terrified of telling me?!”

According to Council records, the Fulgur Ovium Zedaph Pleighs and his two co-workers - the Ignis Petra Tango of the Tek Clan and the Inferni ImpulseSV - are officially called Sapience Outreach Specialists. They jokingly refer to themselves though as the First Contact Crew. It’s up to them to determine the sentience and sapience of alien races that either volunteer or are brought to them by the Council.
And recently the Council has brought them one hell of a challenge: determine the sentience and sapience of a recently discovered species called Terrans using an individual that they nickname Blue.Meanwhile Skizz just wants to be treated like a person by the aliens that abducted him and go back to Earth…

There is something calming about redstone.
Sure it can be frustrating when it doesn’t work or one crumb of dirt gums up a contraption for hours - but the feeling of it staining his fingers, the fizzle in the air as it is powered, and the rhythmic click, thump, and whirl of components - Tango wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
There is something comforting about redstone.
