ALTERNATE UNIVERSE — Not-SQQ!SY. SY transmigrates into the canon!verse as SJ!SQQ’s son/littlebro. Things are a little more complicated than it seems tho. This SY is different, colder. Because he lived this life before (he died, was sent to the future, and when he died again, he was sent back to past at the moment of his death). In any case, his goal this time is to save his believed father and perhaps LBH along the way (although he initially dislikes LBH because he knows what he did to SQQ).
THOUGHTS — It’s a good read! Unfinished for now (and it has yet to be updated since 12/20). The author did leave a note recently that said they have plans to continue it, so it might not be left in hiatus forever! For now, I think it’s been interesting. Not much has happened. Or at least, I feel like it’s still pretty early on the story? But the changed dynamics are compelling.

BING-GE REDEMPTION STORY -- Kind of like beauty and the beast at first! Except Luo Binghe is not a hairy monster and has six hundred wives rather than animate household objects... LOL! Anyways, so yeah. LBH kidnaps SY from the modern world (aka, a SY who has never transmigrated). He brings him over to his world in an effort to mimic the sort of care that SY!SQQ gave to his Bing-Mei. Of course, it doesn't quite work out as he expects it to. This Shen Yuan is not his Shizun, after all. But, SY ends up teaching him things anyway.
[Character study? Bing-ge centric! But strictly SY POV. Angst Level is 3. It's not as sad as I expected! Pretty lighthearted actually. Though it does have its moments.]
THOUGHTS -- Ahhh! This is well written. The author does a good job with their prose. Spending time on the important things while leaving some undefined loosely as subtext (which is always fun!) I also liked the Bing-Ge redemption. He deserves his own HEA, tyrant or not T.T And he does grow up as a character! Which is always nice to see. The difference between this SY and canon!SQQ!SY is pretty stark, but it's done in a way that makes sense. All in all? A fun read! Would read again!
1ST REREAD THOUGHTS — Definitely one of the best Bingge stories out there! I love the slow redemption here. Teaching Bingge to be a little more vulnerable and kinder. I think that’s why I mentioned it was like Beauty and the Beast last time. It’s that careful character growth in the midst of SY’s kidnapping. Just gives off that sort of vibe! A true classic.

MAJOR CANON DIVERGENCE — SQQ is forced to tell the truth… sorta! 😂 Everyone finds out he’s not Shen Jiu and a pretty good guy, and that includes LBH, of course.
THOUGHTS — Ahhh I found this fic very healing. SY!Reveal! I didn’t know I needed it until now! More Gen than I was expecting. But that’s not a bad thing. It left more time for the other characters.
1ST REREAD THOUGHTS -- I think I enjoyed it a lot more this time around! I was able to enjoy the nuances that the author included for the characters -- which I wasn't as familiar with when I first got into the fandom. Anyway, this is definitely one to remember! And a good fic to read if you're looking for something healing~

MAJOR CANON DIVERGENCE — SJ has been awake inside of SY!SQQ this whole time. Only, SY is unable to hear him until he triggers the System’s “Co-Op” mode. In this fic, LBH is still pushed into the abyss, but the following years have SJ & SY working together to work out a happy ending between the two of them. While sharing a body 0.0
THOUGHTS — Favorite!! Ahhhh this one was fun. Idk why I avoided it for so long! I guess the premise is a bit strong at first (the Shen Jiu aspect at least) Idk I’ve forgotten why I hesitated now that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the fic.
This one was nice~ It has SJ!Redemption and a SY!Reveal!! Both things, I’ve realized, I really like. The romance was rather sweet too. The author pulled of LuoShen very well. And the bro-dynamic between ShenJiu&ShenYuan was adorable. All in all?
Definitely worth the read!
1ST REREAD THOUGHTS -- Same as before! A definite fav for me~ The Shen Bros aspect made for both hilarious and sweet moments! It's a fairly lighthearted fic (with just a tinge of angst -- because this is Shen Jiu and Shen Yuan we're talking about, but yeah! Worth the reread several times over.
2ND REREAD THOUGHTS — ended up rereading lolol, worth it!!!

MAJOR CANON DIVERGENCE — SY resurrects in his plant body. But the world is a little different from canon. Everyone is pretty amicable (even if LQG still duels LBH regularly for SQQ’s body). He ends up being brought to Huan Hua Palace just like in canon, but this time, he sticks around and is dragged into some pretty cracky wife plots.
[Identity Porn. Has plot, but it doesn’t take itself too seriously. So kinda… not crack premise but crack?? Jdkdkdkd Angst Level is 3-4 ish. Drama is real!]
THOUGHTS — Great read! This was an interesting take on the mess that was Post-Jinlan. It’s rather healing too. Everyone ends up happy, which is always nice — but there’s plot there to keep things interesting too (nothing is just magically fixed, there’s always an explanation).
I avoided reading it at first because I was unsure about the premise, but I’m glad I gave it a shot! It ended being an interesting read all around. Definitely worth a reread in the future.
1ST REREAD THOUGHTS -- Enjoyed it even more the second time I reread it! The plot in this fic is pretty exciting -- and definitely worth giving a try!

MAJOR CANON DIVERGENCE — SY!SQQ dies two years after he pushes LBH into the abyss. And so, when LBH comes back a year later, it’s already too late. The story starts much much later than that tho. At this point, LBH is now the Emperor. And although he is very much still in love with his Shizun, all attempts of getting him back have failed. Leading him to become more and more blackened. Fortunately for him tho, SY is already back! He’s just being staying as far away as possible.
[Starts off as a case fic. Angst Level is 3? It does have angst, but not heavy angst.]
THOUGHTS — Good read all in all! This was interesting! I actually waited to read this because I thought it would be really really angsty. But, because of the case fic elements and the identity Porn, it’s actually pretty neutral as far as tone goes. Anyway, it was an interesting take on what could have been! Romance was understated, focused more on establishing SY&LBH Post-Abyss. With Meta stuff from System!

Shen Jiu tilted his head and read the cover, “Proud Immortal Demon Way?” Shen Jiu squinted at the book that had caught his attention amongst other hundred books.
Qiu Haitang raised her head, “Oh? That book?” She tilted her head and showed a disdainful expression, “It certainly looked like it was a top quality book, right? Good paper, good cover/ But the content is a complete gibberish to me, truly, don’t judge a book by its cover.”
"Gibberish?" Shen Jiu opened it and saw several characters he couldn't make sense of. This might be interesting.
At that time, Shen Jiu didn't know this book would be his lifeline in the future as he was faced with life's incongruity and absurdity.

ALTERNATE UNIVERSE — SJ!SQQ. Instead of hosting a transmigrator, SQQ (Shen Jiu) finds a book that tells the story Luo Binghe (the complete PDIW). He doesn’t really think much of it at first, but later, when he accepts a disciple by the same name, he realizes that his future is bleak indeed.
[Mostly GEN. There’s some slash at the end, but without the bonus chapters, it’s mostly pre-Slash. Should be read as a total canon rewrite with ShenJiu!POV. Angst Level is 3. Pretty neutral!]
THOUGHTS — Good read all in all! This was nice, the writing is a bit clumsy (with grammar mostly, the prose reads perfectly fine) tho. Also, it’s closer to canon than I was expecting, but the different perspective was compelling despite the fact. The premise (Shen Jiu learning the future from a book rather than time travelling) is unique too, even if it’s similar to the time travelling fics, the author manages to give its own sense of uniqueness.
Definitely ShenJiu-centric. This explored his character development quite thoroughly. Giving him quite the redemption! While also offering a HEA for others.
Ahh too bad it’s unfinished. I would have liked to see those bonus chapters. As it is though? It can be read as pretty much done. I assume the bonus chapters are mostly for romance? Either way, I’d like to read it again in the future.

Luo Binghe swallowed. “Shizun…” He reached out, but when Shen Qingqiu flinched slightly, he lowered his hands. “This disciple is…sorry.” He was still having difficulty speaking. “Did I hurt Shizun?”
“No, it’s fine.” Shen Qingqiu sighed, the tenseness leaving his own shoulders as he let Luo Binghe take his wrist, where red marks were visible. “I just didn’t expect you to grab so tightly.”
As he massaged the other’s skin, his eyes trailed over his shizun’s body. He still remembered many, many years ago, ripping this same arm off this same body, with that same face set in a grimace of pain but also holding an arrogant glare filled with nothing but resentment. Luo Binghe himself had felt nothing but disgust and equal resentment in turn.
Once again, he was suddenly finding it hard to breathe.
A story where Bing-ge starts visiting Shen Qingqiu’s dreams pretending to be Bing-mei, as he wants to seek that same comfort he experienced briefly in the extras.

HEALING — This is a Bing-Ge centric fic! One that focuses on him healing, little by little in the form of soft dreams with SY!SQQ.
[Angst level is 4-5. Fluff laced with bitter sweetness, because Bing-Ge doesn’t actually have a Shizun of his own.]
THOUGHTS — 😭😭😭 Poor Bing-Ge! Ahhh he deserves this chance. He deserves everything. :(( Anyway - It’s quite a sad fic. But a well written one. Bing-Ge goes through quite a healthy development. Little by little, he heals from his past wounds.
1ST REREAD THOUGHTS — 🚨 ⚠️ SPOILER WARNING!!!! ⚠️ The latest chapter has SY!SQQ finally figuring out that Bing-Ge is the one appearing in his dreams~ Things are getting more and more exciting and I’m looking forward to how this will end!!!!! POST-CANON — Bing-Ge & Shen Jiu centric! This one has a transmigrator!Bing-Ge ending up back in his disciple-days. As a fourteen year old under his cruel and cold Shizun. It follows the SVSSS canon timeline to begin with and diverges near the end. With the main focus being establishing Bing-Ge’s and Shen Jiu’s growth.
THOUGHTS — Ahhhh I didn’t know what to expect with this one! I hesitated on reading it for so long because it was unfinished! I ended up caving 😂 but I don’t regret being left hanging (even tho, at the moment, the story is nearing its end — the climax point really) it turned out to be a pretty great read! I always end up loving Bing-Ge fics and this one, with a Tsundere!SJ to match him, is pretty darn cute! I also like the direction the author has taken their relationship dynamics. It’s similar to the SVSSS LuoShen, in that there’s like endless devotion on Bing-Ge’s side. But Shen Jiu’s coldness brings a fresh new twist by letting Bing-Ge be a little more cold himself. Which, I think, is more true for his character anyway. It distinguishes him from Bing-Mei (WhiteLotus Master) still, and makes it very clear that, just like his Shizun, he’s been through a lot (making them the perfect match 😢).
All in all? Would definitely read again! I think I will wait till it’s finished tho, just cause it’s close? But I’ll see about maybe catching an update or two.

POST-CANON -- Shen Jiu from the Bing-Ge!Verse transmigrates into SVSSS canon a decade or so post-canon. He ends up bodysharing with SY!SQQ, although they are not exactly aware of each other (switching off instead whenever night turns to day and vice versa). This is mostly ShenJiu-centric, but it does introduce the situations of other main cast characters after the series has finished up (i.e., BingMeiVerse!LuoShen, Liu Qingge, Ning Ying Yin, etc.)
THOUGHTS -- I read this probably quicker than I should have, so I'm not sure if I really comprehended it all that well. BUT I WAS IN A RUSH SO-- Anyway, it turned out to be a good read despite my early misconceptions. A good fic if you're looking for some good ol' Shen Jiu healing, at least. It's not all that angsty either. But it does patch up YueShen (SJ!SQQ) and touch upon some pretty heavy subjects, so it can't really be called lighthearted. Something in between I suppose?

“Why do you keep calling me like that?” Luo Binghe returns, and Shen Qingqiu’s eyes widen at the way the words are devoid of any emotion. It is nothing though, compared to the force of what Luo Binghe says next. “Who are you?”

POST-CANON — Angst! Or creature-inflicted drama, rather. LBH’s memories of his Shizun are wiped completely, leaving him a colder version of himself (different from Bing-ge!) He plays along with it for a while, but things get complicated when not even PPP cures things.

THOUGHTS — Good read! I avoided this for a while because I like to be in mood for angst before diving too deep, and this one has a pretty heavy premise. Glad I waited! I was able to enjoy it more like this~ I found LBH’s coldness in this very interesting! It’s rare to see him portrayed as such.

MAJOR CANON DIVERGENCE -- Shen Yuan still transmigrates into SVSSS canon. Except, this time, he's a Shixiong rather than a Shizun. Specifically, he ends up being LBH's childhood bully, Ming Fan. It still follows a lot of SVSSS canon but, of course, as a different character, SY has different challenges ahead.
[MainPOVCharacter!SY. Canon Rewrite. Angst Level is at a 3-4 ish? It can get pretty heavy, especially in the more recent chapters. But, it does have it's lighthearted moments too.]
THOUGHTS -- Ahhh I was really hesitant to read this, ngl LOL I didn't realize that SY would be playing Ming Fan and was wondering wth it was the primary ship FWLKALFKA. It's cute though! As Shixiong and Shidi, Shen Yuan and Luo Binghe have a more natural friendship-to-lovers journey ahead of them. It also opens up the opportunity to see characters in a new light (without the SQQ bias). I thoroughly enjoyed the Immortal Alliance Conference too (despite the arc not being finished yet, technically) because usually we're very separated from it (with SQQ coming into the picture close to the end -- and for some reason, authors tend to avoid showing LBH's POV of it so fjwlafkwlajf].
All in all? A great read! I would probably wait for it to be a little further in knowing what's ahead -- wait before coming back to reread I mean. I think the last update was in 01/21? hopefully the hiatus is not permanent!

REVERSE TRANSMIGRATION — Bing-Ge!LBH (pre-PIDW ending, so no bing-ge vs bing-mei) ends up in Shen Yuan’s room. This of course leads to Shen Yuan waking up with a dull knife to his throat, and a SYSTEM in his head telling him that his goal is to make the protagonist happy.
THOUGHTS — Ahh this was good!!! So much character development! I love character centric fics like this. And, I’ve always been a sucker for Bing-Ge being with Shen Yuan (so long as it’s not at the expense of Bing-Mei, of course!) I was worried at first cause having it set in modern times means that it’s pretty much a slice of life fic (and those have always been a bit touch and go for me). But this one stayed compelling throughout!
Ahhh would definitely read this again. This is a fav for sure! I’ll probably wait a bit before coming back to reread it. But I will definitely keep an eye on it!
1ST REREAD THOUGHTS — As expected! Still fav! Enjoyed it just as much as the first time~ Wonderful character development that’s worth the time invested. With a funny and very accurate character voice for Shen Yuan. Ahhh T.T I just love this fic so much. Definitely going to reread it again in the future!

The latest chapters have Shen Yuan trying to set Luo Binghe up with someone after hearing from Airplane bro that papapa is the key LMAO After multiple failed attempts, Bingge finally gets fed up in the latest chapter — after seeing Shen Yuan interacting with so many people — and confronts him about it! Character of Interest Number 1!: Shen Jiu, Shen Yuan, Shen Qingqui. After dying the first time, SJ is reborn as SY, living a relatively comfortable life in modern times. When he dies a second time, he’s given a chance to go back as SQQ, he takes it!
Character of Interest Number 2!: Luo Binghe! After being killed one of his wives (this is Post BingMei vs BingGe!LBH), he is sent reborn into the same universe SQQ ended up in.
[Canon Rewrite, but divergent because of changed circumstances. This is a No-SYSTEM!fic. Angst Level is 4. It’s pretty cute and fluffy most of the time, but it has its moments because this is SJ and Bing-Ge… 😂]
THOUGHTS — Ahhh I’m glad I read this! I was hesitating for a while because it was near finished. I’m satisfied where it’s at tho (even if it’s still pretty open ended rn, I’m happy about where LuoShen is at 🥰). This was a great fic for insights on both Bing-Ge and Shen Jiu! The author pulls both of them rather well, all while offering their own fresh take on canon (same elements, different placements).
I think my favorite part of this fic is the LuoShen buildup tho. It never felt rushed or awkward despite their dynamics as TeacherxStudent. Their chemistry here is even better than canon tbh (tho, to be fair, their canon chemistry is a little… hsoskskddj). Anyway, yeah! I love the LuoShen here. I would read it again and again for that alone!
1ST REREAD THOUGHTS — Reread the update! Great fic~ This time around, I liked how the author dealt with merging the personas of both SQQ and LBH most!
