Depressed and grieving the death of his mother, Remus realises that there is nothing left for him in London. He takes the plunge and moves to Seattle, hoping for a fresh start. After over a month of hermitude, he finds that he doesn’t want to be the same old Remus, the sad boy, rotting in his flat watching the world pass him by. When he becomes a regular at his local dive bar, the Nocturne, he quickly becomes ensconced with the staff. The beautiful bartender with midnight hair, and steel grey eyes was the spanner in the works that he never expected. There’s just one problem, Sirius doesn’t date.

When he opened the phone box door, he was surprised to find someone waiting on the other side. Eyes hard; jaw set. Sirius Black stared at him with pure hatred, hands on his hips.
Remus cleared his throat. “Eh, phone box’s free now.”
“I’ve already taken my call,” Sirius said coldly. “And guess what I was told?”
Remus swallowed. It appeared he’d been right in the assumption that Sirius would not be a fan of whoever was to take care of his horse.

Barty made a theatrical gasp. “Oh my god! This is perfect. Regulus Black, the perfectly pressed, buttoned-up royal of the English department…has a thing for trenchcoat-wearing, soulful-eyed professors who look like they wrestle their inner demons between lectures.”
Dorcas nodded slowly. “A deeply artistic professor-student slowburn.”
Evan cracked a tiny smile. “That does sound like something you’d write, Reg.”

But his life finally seems to be looking up. He has new friends who know almost nothing of his past. A cute barista flirting with him who he might ask on a date. And a job flexible and considerate of his physical disabilities.
Then one day Remus gets a text from an unknown number. Talking mystery boy down from a panic, Remus finds himself strangely protective of the stranger behind the screen. As they continue texting Remus can't help, but develop feeling for the kind, chiasmatic, sweetheart, who's constantly asking about his day and checking on him. In fact, it almost reminds him of a certain someone.

Sirius had found his home with the Potters. Regulus is still stumbling through the dark trying to find one. Well, not literally. He too lives with the Potters. He has amazing friends, but he can't tell them everything. Sure, they know he's gay as hell, that he flinches whenever Dumbledore shouts in the Great Hall, but not even they know about the scars lining more of his body than actual unmarred flesh.
But now he's been studying with Remus, Sirius' friend who is way too attractive to possibly be real. But he sure is real. He's aware of the boy's secret as a werewolf. What he's not quite sure about is if this absolute god of a being also swings that way.

And so had fixing up the old bathroom been.
And so had installing their kitchen cabinets been.But step by step, and adventure by adventure, Sirius and Remus were making the cottage their own, their new home. Instead of some creaky old cottage, covered with cobwebs, it now was a bustling construction site, their dream home in the making.
