Summary
On the hunt for anything that will give them a glimpse of the future, Yaz and her boys have tracked down an alien artefact to Paris in 1904 — and it’s just been bought by a young Gertrude Stein, still establishing her home and her art collection in the 6th arrondissement alongside her brother. But the artefact is not a painting, or even a predictor of the future: instead, it’s something else entirely…and Yaz and Gertrude find themselves forced to grapple with each other’s natures and each other’s secrets in order to escape.
