Florence and Freddie return to California after his forfeit and deal with the aftermath of all that happened there while preparing for the birth of their child. Florence develops what they initially think is prenatal depression but turns out to be pregnancy-onset bipolar disorder and it's a whole journey. Freddie commentates. They have a cat. Florence realizes she doesn't actually like playing chess competitively herself because of performance anxiety, but Freddie thinks she just needs to push past it. Their complicated relationship with Anatoly, who is now back with Svetlana, continues at a distance. But fate will bring them all together eventually.

Summary
A collection of stories that happen between Season 1 (my version of it anyway) and Season 2 (again, how I envision it). Each chapter could stand alone, but I will post them in order. Chapter 1 is probably the biggest pivot from canon events because I just can't imagine either Joyce or Hopper letting go of the fact that they reconnected. So, there are a couple of awkward moments and times when they're maybe trying too hard, but I think it works. I think they both would have been already feeling vulnerable enough to just blurt things out or admit things. Anyway, you can read and decide for yourself!
So, Jopper-centric stories between the two seasons with lots of domesticity that they ease into without even noticing. Lots of processing trauma and life challenges. Lots of joy and growth.Series

The finale didn't do it for me, so I decided to take it from the top and rewrite the entire show...y'know, like a normal person.
Here is my version of Season 1, where everyone has a backstory and I added relationships, friendships, and character interactions, out of pure self-indulgence. I once heard the whole show had been planned from the very start, and then as we moved through it was clear that wasn't the case. So this is my attempt at a do-over where it was (and hopefully that comes across), to try to fill in some plot holes while largely staying faithful to the show.
