Summary
Alone. Afloat. Coral draped across the skyscrapers of evacuated cities. The white glow of the full moon obfuscated by the writhing shape of something that should not be. Think of all the people you lost. Think of how many more you inadvertently killed trying to save anyone else. Alex said "you did everything you could with the information you had," but Morgan still knew that this was his own fault and no one else's. And no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't escape the scars, physical and psychological, left on him from his attempts. He couldn't move on to damage control.
What if someone else could have done better?
...What if they already had?

Summary
I can think like a human, but I am also Us. We have no name for Ourselves, for We were all we knew before contact.
Alex stretches his hand out towards me, palm open.
There is a very small part myself that is compelled to rip him apart, and consume him.
But it is only one part of me.
I have a choice. To mirror him or to annihilate him. -

Summary
A woman was positioned beside Alex, looking a lot more relaxed than he did, leaning back in her chair to observe what was given to her. Her chestnut hair was tied up at the back, but her bangs still fluttered softly along her forehead, seeming to move despite there being no wind.
Mikhaila swallowed. She had never thought of another woman to be… beautiful before, at least not in this way.
Her uniform was also a dark red, matching that of Alex’s, and Mikhaila instantly knew who she was, names snapping into place.
Morgan.
That was Morgan Yu.

Summary
As TranStar begins its next round of Neuromod testing, one which will change the future of mankind, the next round of new hires is brought to Talos I. Aislinn Kelly is one such new hire, but at the same time Morgan Yu is beginning to become deeply involved with testing, she just so happens to be regularly assigned to his office. He, the Vice President and head of the Science Division in one of the mightiest companies in the world, and she, a mere maintenance worker, will end up connecting under the absolute worst circumstances. After all, TranStar is up to something in the bowels of the station, and Morgan knows about it. All of it.
He just... keeps forgetting. Or remembering. Or both. And she is a constant.

Summary
“It is pretty amazing you managed to take them all out by yourself, do I need to screen you for Typhon neuromods, Morgan?”, Austin jested, making Morgan snort duck beer out of his nose. The situation caused them both to laugh as Morgan wiped his bare hand over his lower face, wiping away the beverage.

Summary
Following the events of Prey, Project Cobalt yields the first successful attempt in a long series of experiments implanting mirror neurons in a Typhon. Outside of the rebuilt Talos station, humanity struggles to survive on the Martian and Lunar colonies. As the coral spreads, the pressure on the team behind Cobalt continues to grow.
'Morgan' is now tasked with becoming the bridge between the two species, but first he needs to learn how to be human. It would be a daunting enough task without the phantom memories, the nightmares, and the increasing evidence that not everything is as it seems.

Summary
This is an experiment! I have a lot of snips that I intended to use for Replica, but was never able to. Some were torn apart and had pieces used in other chapters without appearing. Others simply have been forgotten in the WIP folder. The story has progressed in such a way that I've accepted I can't use most of these in the actual work, but there are still many that I enjoy and feel would stand up well as supplementary material.
Given how long the updates for Replica take, I thought posting outtakes would help keep me writing as well as keep people interested. ( It's also how I may answer questions or prompts for Mim, if any readers have them.) For the most part, they'll be posted in chronological order.
This should likely go without saying, but these are best enjoyed if you have read my main story "Replica".

Summary
It is very angry at Alex. It has been trapped in a lie, a fabrication to make it believe it was something, someone that it was not. It has been forced to feel what it was never supposed to, to care for all these doomed lifeforms on Talos and do its damnedest to save them, to choose who lived and who died. It is all Alex’s fault. He is also the one who ripped all that away from it.
But, it thinks, that’s Morgan talking. Typhon don't get angry. Typhon defend, and hide, and hunt. They don't care.
It cares. It has neurons installed in its very being that make it understand. And that is proof that Alex’s theory works.
Morgan always put work before feelings.
It reaches out to Alex’s hand, the extended part of it shifting to match the shape, the color. It shakes his hand.
Alex smiles, and the relief present in his face makes it feel ashamed for its initial selfish instinct.
