Summary
“Tell me why I should take you instead, Hollander,” Rozanov ordered. He pronounced every syllable in his last name and purposely drew it out.
"You want silence. Think about the silence that comes from permanently ending a bloodline. Think about the silence that comes after the scream of a mother who has lost her only child. If you want her to suffer the way you have, then let me take her place and let her live with that. Take me instead of her.”
Rozanov appeared to be considering the offer. He angled his head at Shane before speaking, “Shane Hollander, do you want to pay the debt your family owes to me by taking the place of your mother?”
“Yes,” Shane replied without hesitation.
Or: Mob Boss Grigori Rozanov is murdered in a hit and his son Ilya Rozanov seeks vengeance against those who have wronged his family. Revenge will cost Shane Hollander his freedom, his life, and more after he offers to take his mother's place on Rozanov's hit list.

Summary
"I am going to teach you another word." Shane can't look away from him, entranced. He could not possibly be more unprepared to be learning new Russian words than he is right now, but that's probably the point.
"Harder." Ilya says, never stopping. "Sil'neye."
Fuck. This one was a bit easier, at least. Shane's tongue seemed to know what to do with the sounds of it quicker.
"Sil'neye." Shane breathes, holding Ilya's gaze. They suddenly gleam with satisfaction, or maybe adoration. Shane is obsessed with him, with this, with all of it.
"Yes, good boy." Ilya praises.
Or,
Ilya has a bad day at work, so Shane comes up with a plan to take his mind off things. Ilya was not bluffing when he said he’d teach Shane his version of “important” words in Russian. -

Summary
“Why do you even want a dog anyways?”
Ilya steps closer to Shane, forcing his gaze upwards from where he sits on the couch. “I’d like to have a pet that’s obedient. Loyal.” He traces his fingers along Shane’s bicep, his collarbone, before curling his fingers through Shane’s hair, gently tugging his head back to force his eye contact. “Eager to please.”
ilya buys a collar, shane realizes the joy of being a puppy, they both get a little feral.
