I love this fic. It's wacky but serious at the same time, a perfect balance. Phoenix gets arrested and Edgeworth bails him out (I seriously love fics where the main character gets into a pinch of some kind and others have to save the MC). Edgeworth's anger is off the charts here and the tension with Phoenix and Edgeworth is amazingly written. I like how it explores the issues of Edgeworth also being in charge of prosecuting Phoenix, being the one to release him on bail, and also being the prosecutor on the criminal case he's currently sharing with Phoenix. Edgeworth also has concerns for Phoenix's profession following this, as if Edgeworth did prosecute Phoenix, he would likely be reviewed by the bar association and damage his career. Then Edgeworth further complicates it by kissing Phoenix. But then Phoenix's discovery resulted in the body being discovered - Phoenix's luck, not just the man himself, causes crazy turnabouts.
I love everything about this fic, especially Edgeworth being so worried and angry with Phoenix. I also love the below line:
“Jesus Christ,” Phoenix was not aware that he was Christian but apparently Miles jamming the breaks as they almost ran up the back of a semi-trailer inspired a momentary spiritual awakening in him. “Can you please try not to kill us both?”,
