Summary
Kalim's first letter was short. Very short. To be quite honest, it was more of a postcard than a real letter, four or five lines if you counted the greetings. In Kalim's eyes, it was ideal, enough to carry meaning without being so long that it would make Jamil think Kalim missed him too much – that part was true, sure, but he didn't want to make it too obvious. It was Jamil's long-awaited solo trip and with how he was, it wouldn't be far-fetched to imagine Jamil hurrying back home to see him. So he limited himself as much as possible, only including general statements about life in the palace.
Or: while Jamil is on a trip, Kalim writes him letters.

Summary
The god didn't answer, eyebrows furrowed and a deeply concerned look on his face. He didn’t answer any of Kalim’s questions – a sigh at the twentieth one had been the highlight of this “conversation” – and also hadn’t acknowledged the boy much ever since he brought him here. A flickering glance once in a while, followed by a hissing sound and that was it. On his end, Kalim had intently watched him, leading to a very awkward silence that he tried to fill by any means necessary. The respectful tone he used at first had disappeared almost instantly, leaving him to talk casually, as if he were speaking with a close friend. If the god took umbrage at it, he didn't make it known.
Or: Kalim meets a god. The god is confused to say the least.

Summary
While they're not supposed to go out at night by themselves or even use the Magic Carpet outside, they often do – Jamil protests, tries saying no, but when both Kalim and the Carpet insist, he always gets swept away. It's a bit tricky to take Jamil with them since he started school because they don't do sleepovers much anymore, but they reached a compromise – the Carpet slips away to Jamil's window and comes back with him to the palace so Kalim can climb on it. They haven't been caught yet but Jamil is antsy every time, looking left and right for any sign of an adult presence which Kalim finds funny.
Or: five times Kalim asked (or didn't) Jamil to go on a ride with him and the Carpet and the one time Jamil does.

Summary
The fifth– no, the sixth– no, maybe the seventh? He doesn't remember which loop it is – he never remembers small details. He remembers however everything that will happen from now on, how he can never make things right even if he's supposed to know when it'll happen. Perhaps past Jamil – which is present Jamil and will be future Jamil too – is right. Kalim not being here… That's probably the right solution.
Or: Scripted events can't be stopped. Kalim learns this the hard way.

Summary
Her reaction came as a bit of a surprise to Kalim – Amaya had spent the better part of the week being excited for her first magic lesson. As soon as she showed signs of possessing some powers, she'd begged her fathers to teach her all about it, going so far as to ambush them at work – in his office for Kalim and around the palace for Jamil. Getting her a tutor thankfully wasn't hard thanks to the magic research facility Kalim's father had built following his son's demand and despite Jamil's initial reluctance about letting a stranger teach Amaya (Kalim pretended not to notice him digging through all the candidates' lives), they had managed to arrange some beginner-level lessons for her. (Kalim had really insisted on it because “I don't want Amaya to burn half the house just because she sees something she doesn't like, you see?” which was met with a long sigh from Jamil.)
Or: Family life is fulfilling yet very, very tiring. Neither Kalim nor Jamil complain about it though.

Summary
His brother is a total idiot… Well, Karim knew that from the beginning. Perhaps he knew that even before their birth. Though he didn't really expect Kalim to ask him to cover for his absence at a dorm leader meeting today. If he thinks about it for more than a few seconds, he should have seen that situation coming when he accompanied him to the nurse's office and Kalim was uncharacteristically silent – that's a sign his brain is working overtime. Good job Kalim’s brain, please never work ever again. Leave everything to Jamil because otherwise their family is doomed.

It's Kalim. Rather, it's a drawing of Kalim – a pretty well-done one even – and an alarm bell rings inside his head. He's been negligent. That's the exact type of person he's supposed to be trailing with this account, and yet he's been unaware of it for some time – a glance at the profile indicates it's been created shortly after the beginning of the year. All at once, his body tenses. Only one word comes to mind – stalker. Who else but a stalker would stare at someone for so long that they'd be able to draw it that well? And even make it their banner on social media where everyone can see?
