“You don’t think I’m pretty, Lan Zhan?” Wei Wuxian hums absentmindedly. This is some semblance of normal, at least—and it’s better than discussing the elephant in the room.
“You are—I just...” Lan Zhan folds his knuckles over each other, his long fingers all intertwining. It’s a nervous habit of his—the Lan-branded equivalent to Wei Wuxian’s stress-flirting, “I am...confused.”
“About what?” Wei Wuxian snorts, “Is your nose so useless that you don’t know what this is?”
“I know an Omega scent, Wei Ying,” Lan Zhan states, mild and flat. But then he reaches out, deciding at the last second to pull back, unsteady, “Why hide it?”
“You know how Omegas are viewed already, oh sensible Alpha,” he rolls on his stomach, the pressure of the wood floor against his stomach momentarily easing the cramps, “But an Omega cultivator? Blasphemous.”
