Lifestream. It stretches through time, from the past to the present, connecting to the future, continuous. Changes in any part reverberate throughout the fabrics of time itself, events rearranged, fates changed.
After the Modeoheim incident, sixteen-year-old Cloud Strife has a chance encounter with Sephiroth and finds himself gradually growing close to the famous hero. Until one night, Cloud sees something he wasn’t meant to see and ends up in a spot of trouble – of the lethal kind.
The Planet’s future now compromised, the Lifestream intervenes to reintroduce the one variable that has made all the difference before: Cloud Strife himself.
Even if it means having to grab one from the future.
Rated Mature. This is a time-travel fix-it story set in the Crisis Core era, so it’s canon-divergent with spoiler alert for pretty much the entire compilation of Final Fantasy VII. Underage warning is for Cloud, because technically he is supposed to be sixteen even if he is older inside.

Sephiroth felt stranger and stranger as he and his master traveled west. He had always strived to be good and obedient, and only mete out the necessary amount of violence. His master would be angry if he got sloppy and people asked too many questions.
Sephiroth was also obedient by not asking too many questions himself. He did not speak unless spoken to. He did not presume to rise above his station. He followed his master's teachings and his master's orders alone.
So it was strange to hear a voice in his dreams, telling him to slay. This would not be so unusual if it was his master's voice or his own--those dreams were common enough. This was a woman's voice, and it echoed in a way that seemed to tickle his bones.

Prince Cloud's out here living his life with his annoying bro-dyguard Gen and his hot fiance Zack when a dragon (???) shows up. Then stuff happens, it's a whole thing. Ugh.
