For some reason, this means yokai have a standing invitation to pester Izuku with their existence. Birds assemble choirs for his birthday. If there’s no cedar leaf under the welcome mat, the amazake babaa that lives two apartments over will be knocking on their door by evening. His yokai-purifying excursions get mistaken for vigilantism far too often.

Shirakumo doesn’t seem surprised by it, but Izuku whips his hand back when the intense chill climbs up his arm.

Unbeknownst to Izuku, he actually had a hidden and otherwise useless quirk; the ability to possess his own, and perhaps others, dead body. With impossible activation requirements like that, it should have been a long time before he discovered what his quirk was.

Even before he'd gotten the weakly mumbled confirmation of the other's name he'd known. He could see Toshinori in the child's eyes, the deep blue gaze watery and afraid but so achingly familiar; he could feel it in his bones, where One for All sang and reached for the remnants of ashes that should have been there, but weren't.

On paper, the Hero Commission's plan to investigate Midoriya Izuku under the guise of a training course for combating mental quirks is solid; foolproof, even. Learning about the pre-Quirk eras in Snipe-sensei's class had been interesting enough, but as he said, now they were getting to the good stuff.

izuku's history class is starting a new chapter, and it sparks some memories that aren't izuku's own in his brain. one dream turns to two, turns to many, and izuku is just glad to finally be properly bonding with second and third.

Summary
Despite the oddities of Midoriya's life becoming regular occurrences, he can’t help but find it strange when he steps downstairs to the kitchen one night and hears “You should turn the lights on.” echo around the room.
He pauses, automatically scanning to room for whoever spoke. When he sees that the room is empty, he utilises the tried and tested method of every horror movie, and calls out “Where are you?” to the darkness.
There’s no response.
The incidents continue, people speaking- clearly speaking, to him- and yet he never sees who they are. Never gets a response. Never manages to find the source. He’s the only person who hears them.
There's only one answer.
He's being haunted.

Hikage gave him an incredulous look. “How-”“Hey Nana.” Yoichi said conversationally. “Do you happen to know if Eighth has a shellfish allergy?”

When he watched All Might in action, though, Izuku felt a part of himself realign with the stars. It was like a pull; a bone-deep desire to be closer, to stand by him, to touch. But he wasn't stupid enough to think that he would ever be on the same level as the world's top Hero.
He also knew that it was ridiculous that he felt that way. Those feelings were level with the way that one felt about their soulmates, and there was absolutely no way that there would ever be any small probability that useless Deku was soulmates with All Might. He'd watched an interview once where All Might was asked about the topic, and All Might had said that he had met his platonic other half some many years ago, and would never dream of revealing their identity to the world and possibly endanger them. Izuku was only 4―it just wasn't possible that he was said soulmate.

DekuIzuku shoved the feelings down deep, locking them away within the smallest parts of his heart.after recieving one for all from all might, things started to fall in place as fate intended.
