The sun is shining.
A red and white picnic blanket is laying in the middle of an expansive forest. The basket on top filled with all kinds of snacks and meals that should not fit yet are in the basket nonetheless. Hero is taking ingredients out intending to make sandwiches, Kel is running around playing a game of tag with Aubrey while Basil and Mari stand aside watching with the former trying to find a good time to take a picture of the moment. Omori is sitting under a tree, basking in the shade and observing from afar. Today is another simple day with his friends in Headspace.
Everything is okay
The sun is shining
Aubrey finally catches up to Kel and tackles him to the ground, right when this happens a click is heard from Basil’s camera as he takes the photo and puts it into his album. “Alright that’s enough you two” Hero says while finishing the last sandwich. “Hey! He started it when he came up behind me and slapped my back saying I’m it “ Aubrey yelled out while getting off of Kel. Mari laughs “Well I don’t think screaming “I’m not it” while running after Kel makes you guilt free either Aubrey. “Kel doesn’t seem to hear or pay attention to the accusation made by Aubrey as he jumps up from the ground running towards Hero and snatches the freshly made sandwich off his plate. "Mmm, Your sandwiches are the best bro“ Kel says after eating half of his in one bite. “At least wait until everyone gets their share before asking for seconds. Mari! Basil! Food is ready!” Mari looks up from the recent photo Basil took and smiles back at Hero. “We’ll be right there!“ She stands up and walks over to her little brother with her hand out. “Hey Omori, why don’t you come sit and eat with the rest of us?“ Omori stares blankly for a moment before nodding his and takes his sister’s hand to talk over to the rest up the group. As he sits down, Hero hands him his sandwich. He takes a bite. Delicious. He’s pretty sure it’s delicious at least. He looks around and takes a good look at everyone’s smiling face. He takes a good long look at three people in particular.
He feels a feeling he hasn’t had in a long time.

Sunny wakes from his sleep with a groan, He can’t remember the last time he’s had anything to eat and now his stomach attacks him from within for his neglect. He gets up from his soft bed and feels some pain in his back as he gets up. The dark bedroom is illuminated only by the beeping red light of the house phone. He walks over to the phone and sees he has a new voicemail from his Mom. “Hey Sunny, It’s mommy. I’m working overtime at my job in the city so I won’t be home for quite some time. I didn’t have time to get groceries so I left one of my credit cards in the kitchen for you to go grab something. I’d say this is a good time for you to try and catch up with your friend Kel. He’s been knocking a lot more recently ever since I told him our plan to move in the next few months. If you don’t want to go outside, the number for Gino’s is next to it. Love you and stay safe sweetie.” Her voice sounded stale, probably from overworking herself at work, Sunny thought to himself. Sunny barely paid attention to the latter half of the message, this is hardly the first time he’s been left by himself and his hunger takes priority. Leaving his bedroom, he goes to the bathroom to get himself coherent enough to make himself something edible. After washing his hands and face he stares at himself in the mirror. His skin is pale and his eyes look empty, at least more than usual. His eyes look behind him and for a brief moment he sees…SOMETHING. Terrified, he rushes out of the bathroom only to look down stairs. The stairs seem to go on endlessly into a pitch black abyss, the moonlight turns crimson red as if the moon was bleeding profusely.
Sunny is afraid
However the pain in his stomach continues to grow and so he presses on into the dark. Sunny sways his arm across the wall trying to find the light switch but it's a hopeless search. As he continues down the stairs, SOMETHING IN THE DARK attacks. Sunny on instinct, tries to defend himself only for all swings with his knife to go through SOMETHING. A voice in the back of his calls out to him. “Sunny…Take a deep breath and calm down. Relax yourself”. Sunny begins to follow the advice.

All of a sudden, one of SOMETHING’s hands grabs onto Sunny’s leg and pulls him down the stairs. The last thing Sunny thinks of before falling into the endless abyss is his big sister’s words.
