Louis blinked and forced his eyes to meet the man’s face, tipping his head to the side, eyes squinting under the harsh sun as he swiped away a bead of sweat near his temple.
Dumbly, he said, “You’re not Fin.”
The other man hummed and looked down at himself. His lips twisted into a contemplative sort of off-center pucker.

Louis' days at the docks have followed the same familiar routine for over thirty years, but when a new captain arrives on one of the regular tour boats, Louis is immediately drawn to the man's neon short-shorts, dimpled smile, and wild curls. Set on Emerald Isle in the 1980s, Louis has spent decades keeping parts of himself hidden, but as he falls for the captain, the knot in his chest finally begins to loosen.
