Chapter Text
Sol was the head watcher of the counsel; he dealt with infinite problems every day, yet he never stressed. He always got everything done and considered a whole universe collapsing just a simple fix. His problems stemmed not from what most would think would be his problems. They all stemmed from the four others that he was supposed to call his fellow Watchers. The gods that were supposed to help him till the end of time and beyond. They almost never helped him in existing problems and caused new ones. The only helpful one was Andro, maybe if a new Watcher was deemed worthy they could be like them. Sol sighed at the idea. A new Watcher couldn’t be instated unless deemed necessary by a force not even the Watchers knew much about. It was a force that didn’t exist enough to question.
Sol had a problem. The problem involved one of the other Watchers like I just said it usually did. Sol wasn’t worried. Nyx would be back and not mess around for a while, yet not long enough for Sol’s liking. Lunar however was the real problem, she would relent eventually but it would take longer then Nyx would take. The difference to Lunar and Nyx was that Lunar would get bored after a while and not care anymore. Nyx on the other hand would just act like she gave up and bring up how Sol wouldn’t get what he wanted if she hadn’t given him the win.
Sol just stopped caring about it, cause he had to. Part of him wanted to remember what he must’ve been like as a student, but then again he knew it would probably hurt to know. So he sat at his desk and wondered what Lunar could possibly be doing with that book.

The city had gotten used to the list of villains and heroes and thought that it would stay like that forever. However they didn’t know what was happening in the shadows. In the mansion a conversation was happening and a plan was being made for one side to win. The conversation was one that only three would ever know of. One that would reveal what had really happened when the three kids were kidnapped, and when it actually was.
Then the city wouldn't know what hit them when the last of the three children hit the town with the strongest vengeance any of them had.

The last time I had a meeting with The red king and The widow not much was discussed. Just them making sure me and my siblings were ok. The widow seemed to have a slight reaction to me telling them who my siblings were. I had ignored it and we were interrupted in the middle of the meeting by The widow seemingly having to leave. We decided to pause and continue it the next day. So here I sat in the slightly cold dining room of a mansion. The rest of the rebels seemed to have been told to clear out so it was only us three.
We all stared at each other for a few moments before The widow spoke. “I think we should both reveal who we are because it would benefit us to know each other in our civilian lives. Besides you are the only two I trust not to break and give away information easily under severe pressure.”
The red king nodded, as did I. The widow took off the long black veil that hid her face and The red king removed the sunglasses and red mask that covered the lower half of his face. He did however keep the crown on his head.
I had a look of pure shock when THe widow’s face revealed to be, “Cleo?” My boss from the coffee shop.
She nodded. “I must admit I was a little surprised when I learned that not only were Doc’s plans real, but you were a part of them.”
“And,” We both looked over to see the Red king talking. “While you saw me many times in childhood, even if you don’t remember, you never saw me without the whole costume.” I had slightly remembered seeing him at some points while I was a kid but not much. He stuck out his hand. “Anyways I’m Ren.” I shook his hand and he put it back down.
“Now to the main point of this meeting. How we will launch you as the new rebel slash villain. We need a lot because even if you’ve been at this since you were a toddler you still-”
“We weren't kidnapped when we were toddlers. We were preteens.” I said.
Ren and Cleo looked at me weird for a few moments. Then Ren spoke up. “Doc told me he had kidnapped you way earlier, so that you wouldn’t remember your past life and only know this one.” He and Cleo were clearly the same amount of confused.
“Really? No, me and Pearl were twelve, and Jimmy was eleven.” I said, like it was normal to get kidnapped and trained to be child soldiers at any age.
“Were you guys even properly trained in that amount of time?” Cleo wondered aloud.
“Well I know everything you guys know about fighting so yeah probably.” I said still not realizing what they were trying to imply.
“Dude, that's insane the level of concentrated training you’d have to go through to get that in that amount of time. Doc went missing when you guys had only five years of training then. We picked up all that in a decade.” Ren said worriedly.
I shrugged. “Nothing we can really do about it now is there? So lets get on to what we need for this plan to work shall we?”

After the suit was finished I introduced Mumbo to the rebels. We both walked into the building and got a few side eyes when Mumbo walked in with me. We walked up to Cleo’s office and knocked. After a few moments they told us to come in. They were expecting both of us so they didn’t try to kill Mumbo for being an intruder which was nice.
“So you are Mumbo correct?” They asked. He nodded. “And you want to work for us?” He nodded again. “You have chosen to work for us and acknowledge the fact you will get no credit for these inventions?” They seemed still unsure of his loyalty.
He nodded and said. “If I’m going to burn down the system, I don’t care if I get credit for holding the match. I just wanna see the smoke.”
With that Cleo smiled. “Well then, welcome to the team.”

A few more days of preparation passed before I suited up and sat by the secret exit to the lair. I went over the plan in my head one last time as I stared at the empty street I would exit onto when I was given the signal. I felt the stress creeping up on me. I couldn’t let it get to me. I knew what I had to do so I simply focused on that and tried to forget about how wrong this could go. Then the thought of trying to forget them only made the thought of them stronger. I could feel it taking over my brain more and more. Soon they were the only thing occupying my mind. I could feel my breathes getting more rapid I was going to miss the signal if I didn’t-
I was finally taken out of my sprawling thoughts when the signal of a loud boom was given. I ran out onto the street and towards the systems of back alleyways I’d have to take. My wings spread out and ready to fly if anyone saw me. I’d never felt this much adrenaline rushing through my veins. Part of me hoped that it would stay every time I did this, but most of me knew it would go away.
The buildings and eerie streetlights passed as I ran. It only took a few minutes to get to the place I needed to be. The hero’s tower. It was taller than most of the skyscrapers around it and all the windows were tinted so you couldn’t see inside. That was fine, I didn't need to go inside. My main problem was if you touched certain parts of the building for over three minutes an alarm went off inside, and if you touched the roof and weren't in the system it would automatically go off, which was a problem because what I had planned was on the roof.
Thank god I had wings then.
I flared my wings that would take up the average size garage when fully out and started to life off the ground. The thing about my wings was that I much preferred to glide with them because full on flying could get tiring easily if you didn't stretch them enough, which I didn’t really have the space to do. It was fine though I’d deal with it. It only took a few moments to get to the top. I stayed flying above it and knew I only had a few minutes before their security system detected the flying thing as me instead of a bird. I grabbed the device out of the bag that was thrown over my shoulder. The small device was something Mumbo claimed he could build in his sleep. I placed it down on an electrical box and hit the button on the side of it.
Then I flew as fast as I possibly could and practically crashed into an alleyway as it activated. Man I needed to get better at landings. A sonic boom interrupted the thought as the EMP went off and the hero tower, along with several of the surrounding buildings had every electronic stop working.
I was so screwed if they ever found me.
