His insides quivered, not with desire, but with something deeper. Something that was more potent, more lethal than whatever ancient instinct dared him to act. It was stronger than the beast; in fact, it lulled him to sleep. Still, Kylo fought the feeling all the same. For the feeling, no matter how glorious, was momentary. He would not yield to such fleeting urges.
Her hand cupped his chin; he suddenly noticed how steady her body had become. All signs of trembling gone, minus the occasional shiver in her legs. Her eyes glowed in the lowlight, the clearest he’d seen them in hours. Her face was gentle but stern.
“Don’t fight it Kylo,” she whispered. “It is not desire that influences me. It is love.”
